Spring Pecan Street Festival and More Evens in Austin This Weekend

A Story By

Why hellllooo May! There is just something about this month that brings us so much happiness. Not sure if it’s all the great stuff to do in Austin, the sunshine, or the fact that summer is basically here!

We are so excited to get this month kicked off with some awesome events like the Pecan Street Festival, which made our list for top events in 2019. We also have a special day coming up this Sunday, any guesses? We’re talking Cinco de Mayo baby!

Who else is pumped up for not only this week but for this month? Good, now let’s get straight to the good stuff.

It only happens four days every year and spans across two weekends–once in the spring and again in the fall. The Spring Pecan Street Festival is just around the corner and we have everything you need to know to make the most of your experience.

The festival has been a staple in the Austin event scene for over three decades. People come from all over Austin, some to buy art, some to listen to music, some for the food, and others just to explore what all the hype is about.

Here’s the deal, this free market takes up 6th Street and its surrounding side streets between Brazos and IH35. With nearly 50 local musicians performing over the two-day festival, more than 30 food vendors scattered throughout, and activities such as face painting, a petting zoo, street magicians, and more, you are sure to need a little guidance. You can find the festival map here

It’s the perfect opportunity to get the family downtown and explore an area of Austin that is rich in history and also tends to not be so family-friendly come night time…if you know what we mean. Cough cough, dirty sixth!!

Who’s ready to put on the old cowboy boots and get their country on? The iHeartCountry festival is almost here and they’re bringing some of the biggest names in country music right here to Austin.

Before the main event at the Frank Erwin Center, the Daytime Village will be taking over the north box office plaza. The daytime event will feature performances from Luke Combs, Brett Young, Dylan Scott, and Danielle Bradbery. Want to know the best part? It’s free! That’s right you can enjoy performances from these country superstars in addition to the activity booths which will have free giveaways all afternoon long including last minute tickets to the main show.

Now, for the main event! Returning for the sixth year here in Austin, the iHeartCountry Music festival. The night will boast of performances from Tim McGraw, Florida Georgia Line, Dan + Shay, Little Big Town, Old Dominion, and so many more. The evening will be hosted by one of country music’s most loved radio personalities, Bobby Bones.

Have you heard? Thursdays are the new Fridays–BossBabes ATX fully supports the idea with their monthly gatherings at the Line Hotel Austin. The monthly get-togethers, which kicked off at the beginning of April, will run through September, taking place on the first Thursday of each month. Welcome to The Residency

Be prepared for a night of relaxing on the pool deck enjoying art from local artists, a DJ set, dancing which is encouraged, and swimming, which is optional…but also encouraged.

The event is free, however, be sure to RSVP so BBATX can plan accordingly!

If you are unable to make the May Residency no need to worry, you have not one, not two, not three, but four more chances to experience this one-of-a-kind (well six in total, but you’re picking up what we’re laying down) night!

Don’t hate us for referencing this ’cause we honestly can’t help ourselves…but you can cash us outside at Circuit of the Americas jamming to some of the dopest artists in the hip hop industry right now. Atrists like Bhad Bhabie (cue the reference above), Travis Scott, Lil Wayne, Kevin Gates, and many more.

It’s going to be a day to remember!
