The Great Pumpkin Run and So Many More Awesome Charlotte Events!

A Story By

Crazy to think that this weekend marks the start of the second to last month of this DECADE. Woah. We feel old just saying that.

Time sure does fly when there are so many awesome events happening right here in Charlotte! Let’s take a look at some of the best that are happening this weekend.

Looking for Halloween plans that actually fall on the 31st? Well, you’re in luck because some of your favorite Plaza Midwood breweries are teaming up for a Brewery Crawl.

The crawl includes Legion Brewery, Resident Culture Brewing Company, and Pilot Brewing. There is no particular order on which brewery you need to stop at first!

Don’t feel like walking from brewery to brewery? No worries, transportation will be provided by Ride Jaunt. One of their vehicles will be leaving every 20-30 minutes. Secure your spot on a Ride Jaunt by registering through Eventbrite prior to the crawl.

Each brewery will have a different theme. Also before we forget to mention it, costumes are HIGHLY encouraged.

Pilot Brewing will have Harry Potter trivia from 7:30PM to 9:30PM. They’re offering $3 goblets of their Zen Session IPA. There will also be a raffle and the winner will receive a $100 Pilot gift card. Think of all the beer, y’all.

Resident Culture Brewing Company will have live music and a costume contest from 8PM to 9PM. There will be prizes awarded to those who come in first, second, and third place. There will also be special beer releases including a stout aged on mini candy bars and a Sour Patch kettle sour.

Legion Brewing will have music bingo starting at 7:30PM. Prizes will be awarded to those who win. There will also be food offerings because what’s beer without delicious food?

The event kicks off at 6:30PM, get there on time so you don’t miss out on any of the fun!

If you’re like us then you LOVE fall. There’s just something about the leaves changing and the weather becoming cooler.

We’re also HUGE fans of fall traditions like the Great Pumpkin Run. For those of y’all who are not familiar with the run, it’s a 5K but with a twist.

Runners have the option of either running a traditional 5K (3.1 miles) or adding the option of Tough Pumpkin. The Tough Pumpkin aspect involves running or walking with a pumpkin for the entirety of the race. Doesn’t sound so easy now does it?

Whether you opt to run the race with a pumpkin or not, you will still get some pretty awesome swag for participating. Runners will get a free hoodie, a medal, cup of apple cider and other awesome perks.

Even if you don’t want to race, bring the whole family out for the perfect day at Rural Hill!

This is not only a shopping event but also an experience. There will be loads of different activities and oddities for you to partake in including short films, an art shop, food truck rally, face painting, kids’ activities, and so much more!

Who doesn’t like a good sausage? There is nothing better than a juicy tasty sausage.

Thankfully our friends over at JJ’s Red Hots completely agree with us. They are throwing their 8th Annual Sausagefest this coming Saturday from 3pm to 7pm.

The event takes place outside in their parking lot and rooftop deck. It is an intimate event that features not only sausages but beer as well.

There will be over 30 different beers from 10 different Charlotte breweries for all of y’all to sample. PLUS the real stars are the variety of different sausages that were created exclusively for this event.

There will also be live music from The Whiskey Dollars and Toleman Dollar.

Space is limited due to the fact that JJ’s tries to keep this event on the smaller side in order to minimize line sizes. So hurry up and get your tickets now!

No matter how you spell it (the real answer is clearly donut), this doughy pastry is an elite breakfast or dessert.

So it’s to no one’s surprise that there’s a specific festival here in Charlotte to honor donuts. Mark your calendar folks because the CLT Donut Festival is taking place on November 24th this year.

This is the ULTIMATE cheat day and we’re beyond thankful that it’s taking place on a Sunday.

Not only will there be donuts but also coffee, smoothies, juices, plus vendors, entertainment, and live music. It’s the perfect glutinous Sunday Funday!

Tickets are available for purchase and come in either GA or VIP. The big difference between the two is that VIP gets you 4 beer or Truly Spiked Seltzer tickets while GA you will need to purchase alcoholic beverages at the cash bar.

So far the confirmed donut shops include Donut I Love You and Pepperbox Doughnuts but more are coming!

Just a heads up: this event is not open to anyone under 21 years of age or your furry friends. Tickets will not be available for purchase the day of so we suggest getting yours ASAP!
