With summer nearing an end (queue the waterworks) if you’re like us your looking for the best events to spend the final days! We, here at UNATION want to provide you with the best of the best happenings in Charlotte. Check out what you should be doing
Although Pride month is technically June, we here in Charlotte celebrate in August!
Charlotte Pride Week will run from August 9th until the 18th. There are TONS of different events that are happening throughout the week. From drag bingo to drag brunch and official after parties, there will never be a boring moment.
The main event of Pride is the festival. Thousands of people and families crowd the streets Uptown to celebrate everything love. And let’s not forget about the parade!
If you have never attended a Pride parade before, there is truly nothing like it. Bring your friends and family out to celebrate everything love.
Something new this year is the Pride app that is your one-stop-shop for everything Pride including street closures, sponsors, schedules, maps, and so much more! We suggest downloading it to make sure you don’t miss out!
Charlotte Pride, since its founding in 2000, has created programs and activities to enrich, empower, strengthen, and make visible the unique lives and experiences of LGBTQ people in Charlotte and the Carolinas.

There is a reason why the OrthoCarolina 10K Classic, presented by Hanger Clinic, has been voted the best 10K in all of Charlotte! It not only provides one of the best courses but also a pretty fun afterparty/expo presented by UnitedHealthCare.
This year’s race will take place on Saturday, August 17th at 7:30AM. The race begins at the OrthoCarolina Sports Medicine Center on Randolph Road.
One aspect that makes the OrthoCarolina 10K Classic so unique is the fact that it offers a Rookie Run that is specifically designed for beginners. It aims to get rid of the anxiety and fear associated with running long races. The race itself is untimed and rather than a 10K it is a 5K.
Along with the Rookie Run, there is also a challenging 5K run/walk and a kid’s dash. What we also love about the race is that pacer’s line the course to cheer you on as you challenge and push yourself towards the finish line.
After you finish the race that is when the real fun begins. There will be loads of different food trucks and local beer that you can purchase and sample.
So come out this Saturday to see for yourself why this is the best race in Charlotte!

Crazy to think Triple C is celebrating 7 years of awesome beer and events! And guess what! We couldn’t be happier for them.
This Saturday, as a way of saying thank you to all of their amazing customers throughout the past 7 years, they are throwing a pretty epic anniversary party.
What can you expect? Great question! Beer–and we’re not just talking about their normal lineup of beer. They’re releasing 20-25 brand new beers! We already know we’re going to be sampling them all.
Don’t worry we didn’t forget about the food that will be available for purchase. Some of your favorite local food trucks including Bleu Barn Bistro, TIN Kitchen, and Auntie Anne’s Pretzel Truck Charlotte will be slinging food all day long.
So come out this Saturday to celebrate one of Charlotte’s staple breweries!

Camp North End has done it again! There’s a reason why this is one of our favorite venues in all of Charlotte. They’re constantly thinking out of the box to bring unique events to the Charlotte area.
The Community Feast: A Charlotte Collaboration will feature over 15 of some of the best chefs in Charlotte coming together to cook a communal dinner.
What we really love about this event is that their tickets are “pay what you can” and goes towards a benefitting a pretty awesome cause: Heal Charlotte.
However, the first couple tiers of ticketing prices have already sold out but higher price tickets are still available.
The meal will include the three proteins, three starches, four vegetable sides, three pieces of bread, and of course, three dessert options. Plus there will also be a cash bar on site.
If you’re an avid foodie and a lover of all things local, we highly suggest getting a ticket to this unique event.

You didn’t think we were going to forget about a drag event during pride, did you? We could never!
Our friends over at Vanity House are throwing a drag brunch hosted by Rupaul’s Drag Race’s very own Jaidynn Diore Fierce. Jaidynn was actually part of the first drag brunch that Vanity House hosted and they’re beyond excited that she has decided to return for Pride.
With your ticket, you will get admission into the show along with a delicious chef-driven meal from Ink and Ivy. Vanity House will also be giving the first signature cocktail free to anyone 21+.
Heads up, all brunch passes are first come first serve for seating. However, tables for 8 or more can be reserved!
Like RuPaul says, “We’re All Born Naked and the Rest is Drag.”

Staying in Town for Labor Day? Check out the USNWC
The last long weekend of the summer is almost upon us! Whether you’re hitting the road or staying in town, there are a plethora of things to do to celebrate the end of Summer 2019.
One of the best Labor Day events in Charlotte is by far the USNWC’s Annual Labor Day Celebration. While the main event is the celebration on Sunday there are LOADS of different activities happening throughout the weekend.
One of their more unique events occurs on Saturday and is there Aqua Rock Deep Water Solo Climbing Competition. You may be asking yourself, “what in the heck is that?” Don’t worry, we had to do some investigating ourselves.
The competition occurs on the USNWC one-of-a-kind climbing complex that features climbing walls from 25ft to 45ft tall. If/when the climbers fall, their fall is caught by a 20ft pool. The competition is open to people of all ability levels.
Sunday morning kicks off with the Annual Labor Day Trail Race, in which racers can choose to either run a 5K or 15K depending on how hard they want to challenge themselves.
The rest of the afternoon is filled with everything from SUP yoga to regular yoga and live music. There will also be delicious food and alcohol available to purchase.
The night concludes with their jaw-dropping fireworks display at sunset–which, by the way, is one of the only ones that occur on Labor Day in Charlotte.
Like all USNWC events, it’s free and open to the public.
