Oh, how time flies when you’re having fun in Atlanta! We can’t believe it but it’s already time to start talking turkey. We have some great Thanksgiving morning events for you (hint: you’re going to need your running shoes!) and some more things to do in Atlanta this weekend to send you into the winter season.

Events this Weekend in Atlanta

Miracle Pop Up Bar has swept the nation with festive cheer! We love seeing this pop-up Christmas bar in our city as soon as the last of the leftovers are being packed away. This year, Miracle will be hosted at Tapa Tapa starting November 26 and lasts for exactly one month.

The holiday spirits runneth over at this charismatic cocktail party every Wednesday through Sunday of the season. Enjoy handcrafted drinks in kitschy cups and get ready to jingle all the way! For more season-long events and activities, check out our Winter and Holiday Events blog!

Cooper’s Tree Farm will be hosting Santa Claus for family pictures just in time for holiday cards! Immerse yourselves into a farm of trees and enjoy the family fun. There are three different photo shoots to choose from, so you can get exactly what you’re looking for. 

Feeling extra festive? Cooper’s Tree Farm lets you cut down your own tree! Pick out the perfect pine and get to work. There are other offerings like wreaths and table arrangements available for purchase. The farm is leashed pet-friendly, and they have their very own petting zoo!

Home Alone in Concert with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra

Soak in the sounds of this family-favorite movie with the help of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. For three nights, the Orchestra will play the whimsical soundtrack alongside the motion picture. Spice up your family tradition of watching the film at home and enjoy this classic in a brand new way.

Calling all art lovers! What’s better than collecting beautiful art, supporting local artists and giving back to your community? Being able to do all three at the same time! In its 84th year, The 2020 Atlanta Dogwood Festival is hosting its online art auction now through July 31st and you don’t want to miss out. Here’s how it works:

  1. Register: In order to bid, you will create an account and enter your billing information.
  2. Bid: Browse the gallery and place a bid on your favorite pieces. Bidding can be done in increments of $10.
  3. Watch: If you get outbid on any item, you will receive an email giving you a chance to increase your bid. 

The Atlanta Dogwood Festival will donate all net proceeds from the Online Art Auction to directly support Atlanta-area high schools. Click here to register now and show support for up and coming Atlanta artists! 

Since we can’t visit the Symphony Hall, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra is now offering a virtual stage. Music lovers rejoice and listen to the beauty of the ASO through specially curated content where you’ll find on-demand performances and videos designed to bring you closer to the music and the ASO musicians while we continue to practice social distancing. We can’t wait to enjoy from the comfort of our home with our favorite take-out food!

4. Take a 1-on-1 Virtual Theatre Coaching Session

Always wanted to get into acting but just never had the time to start? Or have you been too nervous to take that first leap? Well great news! The Alliance Theatre now offers one-on-one virtual coaching sessions with professional Alliance Theatre artists. Whether you are starting out or are a seasoned professional actor, these private coaching sessions will take your craft to the next level! Coaching sessions are $60 for a one hour session and are available for artists of all ages. All sessions are conducted through Zoom. Check out a list of suggested topics below:
