Cooler Weather Calls for Chill Things to Do in Jacksonville This Winter

We know winter isn’t the same in Florida. While it may bet a little chilly, it can be hard to get in the spirit. But don’t worry, we made a list of some things to do in Jacksonville this winter to help you stay cool! No matter what your favorite season of the year is, these winter activities are fun for the whole family.

Chilly Weather in Jacksonville Guide

Jacksonville Ice & Sports Complex, now known as Community First Igloo is currently undergoing construction on a whole new facility. This will be the only NHL sized ice rink in NE Florida.

They offer public ice skating year-round, seven days a week and will soon offer so much more with the new construction in 2022. Ice skating is the perfect family activity and goes hand-in-hand with the holidays. You don’t have to be a professional ice-skater to have fun at this rink. 

Mon | Matinee 10am – 12pm
Tues | Matinee 10am – 12pm, $9 Family Fun Night 7:45pm – 9pm
Wed | Matinee 10am – 12pm
Thurs | Matinee 10am – 12pm
Fri | Matinee 10am – 12pm, Evening 8pm – 10pm
Sat | Afternoon 12pm – 2pm, Evening 7pm – 10pm
Sun | 12pm – 3pm

Here in America’s Oldest City, the Annual Nights of Lights is set to brighten up the holidays in The Ancient City once again! To experience the glow of the season and the more than 3 million sparkling white lights adorning every corner of the city, stretching for nearly 20 blocks, take a ride on Old Town Trolley’s Nights of Lights Tour!

This may not be in Jacksonville but it’s the first-ever Snow Park in Florida–we’re always up for a road trip to see some snow. They opened in 2020 and has quickly become a must visit Winter stop on our to-do list! They have snowy slopes, an arctic igloo, an alpine village, and so much more.
