If you ever need a break from the hustle and bustle of Orlando, you only have to drive a half hour before you reach one of the most charming towns in Florida! Mount Dora is full of so many unique restaurants, parks, and shops where you can spend your time.
We’ve gathered up the best things to do in Mount Dora and put them right here for you, so keep reading to find out how you’ll be spending your next weekend outside of Orlando!
With Mount Dora being one of the most historical towns in Florida, it makes sense that the town would have some fantastic shops to thrift in.
The Village Antique Mall says it has the best antique selection in all of central Florida, so there’s sure to be some gems there—especially with 60 vendors to choose from. Renniger’s Vintage Antique Center & Flea Market is another great place to look around, for it spans 117 acres!
Mount Dora is full of beautiful parks where you can soak up that Vitamin D! Pack a picnic, take a walk along the boardwalk, or take some photos. Directions to our four favorite parks are below, but pay special attention to Grantham Point Park and Sunset Park!
Grantham Point Park is home to the Mount Dora Lighthouse, one of the icons of Mount Dora, and Sunset Park has a huge Christmas tree during the holidays. Both parks have lots of open space, and—of course—great views.
Next up on our list of the best things to do in Mount Dora is the cutest little theater you ever did see! Watching live theater is always a great way to spend the evening, and the Sonnentag Theater has a great lineup of shows.
Starting on November 18, they are performing a holiday musical called, “Five Golden Rings!” Check out their website for ticket prices, information about season passes, and the full line-up of shows for the upcoming months.

Mount Dora has so much history behind it, which means it’s home to a lot of historical sites! Memorabilia, art, and buildings from the town’s past are preserved well so guests of the town can learn more about it. There are many different museums to explore, as well as beautiful old buildings turned historical landmarks.
Check out some of the museums we linked below! The Donnelly House and the Mount Dora Historical Society Museum are two of our favorites.
If you don’t think you can learn all there is to learn about Mount Dora from their museums, why not see it all firsthand? One of our favorite things to do in Mount Dora is the Historic Downtown Electric Cart Tour!
Board an electric golf cart with a knowledgeable tour guide and ride around town in style! You’ll feel like you’ve traveled back in time with the narrated tour, and by the end of it, you’ll be a Mount Dora expert. Maybe next time you’ll lead the tour!
Tours start at $15 a person, with a maximum of 5 people per group. Check out the website for more information, or to purchase tickets.

This next place on our list of best things to do in Mount Dora has something for everyone. The Mount Dora Marketplace is the perfect combination of eateries, shops, and aesthetically pleasing places to take pictures.
We highly recommend grabbing a mimosa to go from Bubbles and Juice to sip on as you peruse the vendors. Mount Dora has an open container policy, which means wherever you go, your drink gets to come with you.
Check out their website to see the Marketplace’s operating hours and to learn more information!

We know everyone’s favorite daily activity is buying iced coffee for no reason. Good news—you can do that in Mount Dora, too! Serendipity Brews is a quaint little coffee shop right in the heart of Mount Dora that we advise you not to miss if you stop into town.
Not only do they have delicious coffee, they also serve craft beer and a few wine-based cocktails. You can spend your mornings and evenings here!
Take a look at their website if you want to see the full menu, as well as event dates. Serendipity Brews hosts karaoke and open mic nights every once in awhile, so be sure to stop by!

Last on our list of things to do in Mount Dora is one of our personal favorites: the Starry Night House! Check out this USA Today article for the full story on the house, but this is one of the most controversial roadside attractions in Mount Dora.
The beautiful recreation of Van Gogh’s Starry Night can be seen as soon as the house comes into view! Not only that, but the house also pays homage to Van Gogh with a recreation of Cafe Terrace at Night on the back of the house and his self-portrait on one of the sides.
Definitely a must-see for any art lover, and a long-loved icon of Mount Dora.
