Bars, Restaurants, Bakeries & More: Here’s our Favorite Things to Do in Springfield

A Story By

Springfield is a wonderful neighborhood filled with some of the most unique restaurants and boutiques that Jacksonville offers. From fan-favorite breweries to authentic bakeries and more, there’s always something fun to do.

Because there’s a lot to consider when planning a trip, we’ve created a guide of some of our favorite things to do in Springfield for your next day trip into the neighborhood.

Bars and Restaurants in Springfield

📷 Hyperion Brewing Co.

Springfield is Jacksonville’s hotspot for breweries and craft beer. One of the local favorites is Hyperion Brewing Co. which focuses on serving a rotating line-up of beers, each with its own unique flavor profile.

To complete the taproom experience, Hyperion uses quality ingredients in their crafts to create a selection ranging from classic staples to pushing the limit of “modern craft beer.”

Plus, that outdoor patio is the perfect place to sip a refreshing beer on a hot Florida day!

Close your eyes and imagine a glass case full of fresh, homemade baked goods. Okay, now open your eyes, and boom, you’re in 1748 Bakehouse–historic Springfield’s premier bakery and restaurant.

The menu is constantly rotating in order to introduce “different foods to different cultures,” but each item is prepared to perfection! With a fabulous selection of breakfast, lunch, desserts, and refreshments, put 1748 Bakehouse on your list of things to do in Springfield.

📷 Crispy's Springfield Gallery

Gourmet pizza…now that we have your attention let us introduce you to Crispy’s Springfield Gallery.

Serving “really good pizza” is at the top of the list at this restaurant, with our favorite being the Main Street, topped with San Marzano sauce and fresh basil leaves. In addition to the best pizza in Springfield, Crispy’s also services up paninis, sandwiches, salads, and apps!

Pro tip: Get the meatball panini, you won’t regret it.

📷 Main & Six Brewing Company

With a “passion for brewing and an obsession for quality,” Main & Six Brewing Company is the second of three beloved breweries in the neighborhood.

Their selection includes a fruity American IPA, a citric pale ale, and roast stout–to name a few. Thankfully, they keep a variety of flavor selections on tap at all times, inviting anyone who loves craft beer to come and enjoy a few!

📷 Fred Cotton's Landmark BBQ

The name speaks for itself…Fred Cotten’s Landmark BBQ is, in fact, good enough to be a local landmark. This family-owned restaurant serves up traditional American BBQ entrees.

We highly recommend the tender and flavor-packed chicken wings, ribs that fall off the bone, and freshly-caught seafood.

📷 The District

New to Historic Springfield, The District is a wine bar and lounge that recently opened its doors. We adore the outside patio, which is going to be great for the cooler fall weather and a really nice date night spot. They also have added the cutest Yurt Lounge areas for all of our boho dreams! You can make a reservation for special occasions or just because!

We recommend their charcuterie board, as well as any of the local beer options–and of course the wine. Our favorite is their Riesling. We deff buy a bottle every time we go. The best part is that on Sundays, they have HAPPY HOUR all day!
