Africa
The Expedition Africa offers visitors the chance to get up close and personal with unique animals. Hop on the guided safari tour through Africa at ZooTampa for a 15 minute long narrated ride! The open-air tram offers breathtaking views of dozens of animals such as African elephants, okapis, African wild dogs, and more! Are you ready for an African safari adventure?
The Expedition Africa runs 10AM-2PM on weekdays and 11AM-4PM on weekends.
Florida
A thrilling adventure awaits! The Roaring Springs is a refreshing boat ride, perfect for the entire family! See who gets soaked the most as the boat soars along a crystal clear spring surrounded by beautiful, native landscape and some wildlife! This is the perfect mid-day escape from the Florida heat!
Wallaroo Station
This one is for all of the kiddos visiting ZooTampa! Wallaroo Station takes you to the land down under, Australia. This Aussie-themed family area can provide hours and hours of enjoyment and discovery! Cool off in the splash pad area, hop on a fun ride like the Boomer’s Flyin’ Bananas, grab a bite to eat at Boomer’s Cafe, and so much more!
Rides
Beyond the excitement of seeing exotic animals, ZooTampa also presents a little amusement park full of fun rides! We’d say that these are our top favorites, Roaring Springs, Boomer’s Flyin’ Bananas, Overland Express Train, and Tasmanian Tiger Coaster.
Carousel Circle
The Carousel Circle is a perfect first-stop on your trip to ZooTampa. Here, they have the Jungle Carousel, food stands, games and prizes, face painting, and more. Plus, this is where you might run into an African Penguin Encounter if you’re lucky!
Asia
Leopards, tigers, rhinos, oh my! The Asian Gardens at ZooTampa are home to many rare and endangered animals. Here, you can watch the animals roam and play, or get up close and personal with an interactive exhibit. You’ll also find some of the most breathtakingly beautiful birds here and you can feed them for a small fee.
Manatee Circle
The fun begins at Manatee Circle! This area is located at the front of the zoo where you’ll instantly be transported into a unique experience with colorful macaws flying overhead, beautiful photo ops all around, and you might even see the resident sloth hanging out!
Pro tip: the sloths are most active in the mornings.
Macaw Flyover
The Macaw Flyover is one of the coolest things to happen at ZooTampa! Be on the lookout around Manatee Circle for the colorful macaws as they fly over the entrance. This is seriously the best photo opportunity if you can catch it!
