Located in a small plaza in the Bloomingdale area of Riverview, this hole in the wall spot is a must-visit since it is constantly suggested by the locals.

Serving classic American dishes with a twist, their ever-changing menu is seriously impressive. How about a Schnitzel Cuban sandwich? While their dinner food is amazing, their brunch chicken and waffles are to die for! 

Quick local tip: try to get there early for brunch because they are known to run out of this signature dish on weekends.

📷 Tibby's New Orleans Kitchen

Be transported to a little New Orleans in the middle of Brandon by checking out Tibby’s.  Full of Mardi Gras decor and New Orleans references on the menu, there is no skimping on the party theme.

If you’re not familiar with Cajun food, you have to visit to experience their extensive and authentic menu. We recommend their Jambalaya, which is made completely from scratch. Definitely check out their drinks as well! 

Lastly, try to save some room for desserts because they know exactly why you’re visiting–the famous New Orleans powdered beignets. You can actually pick how many you want by the piece, so if you’re stuffed from your dinner you can choose to only have one or two beignets for dessert!

BullFrog Creek is a brewery known by the locals, who always end up returning for their amazing ambiance and bar games. Featuring an artificial grass patio and twinkly lights indoors, this spot is reminiscent of Soho bars like Bar Howard. Definitely stop by with some friends to grab a beer and eat at their featured food trucks! They have a food truck every day except for Monday, so check out the schedule.

The Landing is a great meetup spot to gather with friends because of the great atmosphere and amazing food.  With a classic pub restaurant vibe, they definitely specialize in perfecting the American classics.

We recommend trying out a couple of their flatbreads with the table and ending with their chocolate molten lava cake! 

Check out their great tap beer selection as well! Also, if you’re working in the area, this is our pick for a lunch out of the office because of their yummy lunch menu from Monday to Friday.

La Villa Mexican is a little gem in the greater Lithia area. Unassuming and in a small strip mall, this is a total hole-in-the-wall treasure for the area.  You’ll be greeted by their gorgeous outdoor garden of flowers in the entrance. 

La Villa serves amazing authentic Mexican food and carries an extensive menu. We recommend their classic tamales and their chile relleno, served with rice and beans!

Jimmy Hula’s is a cool tropical-themed restaurant located on Brandon Boulevard, right before the Valrico area. 

If you’re looking for a place to take the family for a fun dinner out, this will definitely be a hit. This is a great choice if you love seafood because it is always so fresh and cooked perfectly. 

We recommend their fish tacos! With five specialties, it’ll be hard to choose so make sure to grab a couple. The Big Island taco, featuring crispy fish and pineapple mango pico de gallo is a must-try!

Smoking Pig BBQ is a local barbeque joint that you cannot miss out on in the Brandon area. Located on 301, this spot is a great place to grab lunch or pick up dinner for the family.  

The most popular dishes are the pulled pork sandwich and the chopped beef brisket. We recommend ordering these and a couple of appetizers for the table–especially the hush puppies and fried pickles.

If you’re looking for something different for date night, Black Rock restaurant on your list. Fairly new to the Brandon area, this Black Rock is an amazing seafood restaurant and steakhouse found in the heart of Brandon, near Westfield mall. 

This spot really likes to highlight the experience around your visit by serving their steaks on top of sizzling black rock. Top it off with some really innovative cocktails like their Magic Potion, which changes color tableside! 

If you’re really looking to impress a first date or celebrating an anniversary, Black Rock is a great option.
