New Year’s Eve can be a high-pressure time to have the best night at a great spot, and with so many options in Philadelphia, we’re featuring five of our favorites. Read on to see what you should do for NYE in Philly!
1. Fireworks at Moshulu
Moshulu really knows how to show out for an event, and New Year’s Eve is no exception. With the purchase of a ticket, you receive a three-course meal from 3 to 6 pm, with gorgeous fireworks beginning at 6 to ring in the new year.
2. Hijinx Festival
This EDM festival is held on both December 30th and December 31st to celebrate the new year with plenty of lights, dancing, and heart-pumping music from various different artists! Doors open at 4:30 pm on both nights, and some performers include Alison Wonderland, Louis the Child, Excision, and Griz.
3. New Year's Eve Party on Ice at Blue Cross RiverRink
See the Penn’s Landing fireworks on the ice this New Year’s Eve at the Blue Cross RiverRink! Skating is held from 6 to 12:30 pm, and features plenty to drink, eat, and see, as the Rivers Casino Fireworks are being held right next door at 6 and again at midnight. If you want to watch in warmth (and don’t trust yourself on skates), you can sit under heat lamps or by the fire at the outdoor food vendors, such as Chickie’s and Pete’s and Skelly’s Pizza. You even get a complimentary Ferris Wheel ride with the purchase of skating!
4. Rivers Casino Fireworks on the Waterfront
The premiere firework show of New Year’s Eve in Philly, the Rivers Casino Fireworks are made ten times as special when seen from the Waterfront at Penn’s Landing. There are two shows, one beginning at 6 pm, and the next at midnight to welcome the new year with beautiful fireworks.
5. NYE at Royal Boucherie
Royal Boucherie, a fabulous French restaurant in South Philly, features burlesque shows only once a year: on New Year’s Eve. The performers will dance while you dine, as dinner is served from 4 pm to 12 am. In addition, a complimentary champagne toast is available for everyone who makes it to midnight, making NYE at Royal Boucherie a guaranteed good night.
