The rough season continues for the Philadelphia Flyers, as they currently sit in 7th place, second to last, in the Metropolitan division. With 59 points on the season, they remain competitive, but certainly won’t be seeing any postseason action.
What many fans expected to be a big trade deadline for the Flyers ended up being relatively quiet. The only moves GM Chuck Fletcher ended up making were moving forward Patrick Brown to the Senators for a 2023 sixth-round pick, and sending forward Zach MacEwen to the Kings for forward Brendan Lemieux and a 2024 fifth-round pick.
While most thought the Flyers would play much more of a role as ‘sellers’, this could speak to the culture Coach Tortorella has been building all year. This team is going to continue to compete night in and night out, and over time, hope that this culture will create success for this Philadelphia organization.
