Our Day in The Heights

We started our day in The Heights at Lola, one of our favorite spots to grab breakfast before we get our day started.  After our delicious breakfast, we headed down to Boomtown Coffee for a latte and to get a little work done on the patio with the Stuff to Do in Houston team.

What’s a day in The Heights without a little shopping? There are so many great shops on 19th St with something for everyone like records at Vinal Edge Records, antiques at AG Antiques, or a cute new outfit at Emerson Rose Boutique. Of course, we squeezed in some mural hunting and some cute photo ops along the way! (Pro Tip: the rooftop at Harold’s has some amazing views!)

We made it to Eight Row Flint just in time for Happy Hour and finished the evening off with a bite to eat at Coltivare. We always have the best time when we can spend a day in The Heights together and you will too!

Ironically, Houston Heights was originally settled back in the 1800s as a place for people who wanted to live outside of the city. Today, it is very much a central part of Houston, but the area has maintained a lot of that classic Houston charm and history. The Heights was also named one of the most walkable neighborhoods in the city, and with literally hundreds of establishments including breweries, boutiques, fitness studios, and local eateries, you can easily spend a full day here meandering from one HOU original to another. With easy walking and central location, it is no wonder the area has some of the best shopping in the city. You can walk down 19th St, popping into unique thrift stores, boutiques, and specialty shops until your legs give out! There is something for everyone and every mood in The Heights, making it an ideal Houston neighborhood to live, work, and play.
