Step into a whole NEW Spooktacular as Jacksonville's favorite fall tradition returns with a refreshed nighttime experience! Beginning at 6 p.m., explore the Zoo after hours as you follow a one-way trail filled with festive lights, interactive displays, and Halloween fun for all ages. Journey through a 400-foot light tunnel, discover your spirit animal with the Witches of Trout River and dance at the all-new Skeleton Disco. Along the way, enjoy trick-or-treat stations, seasonal photo opportunities and plenty of festive surprises.
To help make your visit as enjoyable as possible, Spooktacular now offers timed entry windows. Select either the 6 to 7:30 p.m. or 7:30 to 9 p.m. entry window when purchasing your tickets and arrive during your chosen time.
Explore the Zoo and Gardens and discover a world of treats, tricks, and spooky delights. Search the Gardens for treat stations scattered from the main entrance to Play Park. Plus, for those brave enough, the Forest of Frights awaits! This thrilling scare zone guarantees chilling surprises around every corner, recommended for ages 13+. Encounter a cast of enchanting characters! Friendly ghosts will guide you through the brand-new neon maze, promising a fun adventure. Witness a bone-chilling performance from hip-hop skeletons, and journey to the river where a captivating storyteller will share tales of dragons, igniting your imagination.

Purchase Spooktacular tickets in advance and SAVE $5 a ticket. Tickets must be purchased online. The Zoo closes at 5:00 pm and will reopen at 6:00 pm. Tickets are nontransferable and nonrefundable. This event will go on rain or shine, safety permitting.
PRO TIPS:
- Visit the startling Forest of Frights, a thrilling scare zone recommended for ages 13+.
- The entrance to the scare zone is located on the Great Lawn and is clearly marked. For groups that have a mix of those who enjoy scares and those who don't, purchase a Scaredy Cat necklace so the monsters are less likely to engage with those wearing it.
- Go trick-or-treating at six candy and toy stations scattered throughout the park.
- Enjoy a frightening amount of music, entertainment and photo ops.
- Shop bewitching gifts and devour scary-good food and drinks.
- Get into the spooky spirit and dress in fun, family-friendly costumes.
- Animals will not be visible during this event, as they go to bed before dusk.
