Wake up and smell the coffee! If you’re anything like us, you can’t properly function without at least one cup of coffee first thing in the morning! After drinking the same roast every single morning, it can start to become a bit habitual and dare we say…boring? We have compiled a list of our favorite coffee shops in Third Ward that we full heartedly believe you should try.
We promise they will spice up your morning routine, they truly know what they are doing!
The first stop on our best coffee shops in Third Ward list is a cafe that is not limited to just morning coffee! The Nook Cafe is an all-day kind of place because who said coffee is just for mornings?!
This specialty coffee shop is home to the official house coffee blend of the University of Houston. They have real coffee, yummy pastries, and desserts, and even an assortment of freshly squeezed juices made fresh daily from their Zumex juice machine!
The Nook Cafe is a fun hang-out spot to meet people or bring friends and play board or card games. Don’t forget they have awesome craft beer and friendly wines too!
This next spot on our coffee spots in Third Ward list used to be a historic Gulf gas station! It was originally built in 1921 and, over the years, became a dilapidated eyesore.
Retrospect Coffee Bar came in and renovated and restored this old convenience store with all eco-friendly practices. They made it into what it is today: a unique, relaxed, and friendly environment, serving up locally roasted coffee!
It doesn’t stop there, though! They also have craft beer, interesting wines, and mimosas, paninis, crepes, muffins, and pastries–even vegetarian and vegan options! Oh, and did we mention their handcrafted espresso from their bright orange Slayer?! Try it out!
If you needed any more reasons to leave your everyday coffee routine at home and try something new, La Chamba Coffee & Careers is that reason! Each purchase made at La Chamba will invest in building leadership, entrepreneurship, and employability skills for young adults from developing communities.
La Chamba is here to provide Houston’s youth with a safe and thoughtful place to grow as leaders. It feels good to drink coffee anyway, but it especially feels good to drink coffee for a purpose.
This coffee shop has a super modern atmosphere, great service, friendly employees, and delicious smoothies and lattes. This relaxing spot to sit down and do some work could be your new favorite place to go in the mornings!
We hope you enjoy these coffee shops in Third Ward as much as we do! Hope to see you there.
