Calling all caffeine lovers!

We know that coffee shops are the go-to spot to work, study, date, or eavesdrop… sorry, sorry *accidentally overhear* other people’s conversations. We also know that not all coffee shops are created equal and there’s nothing worse than an overpriced, toilet water-flavored coffee. So, we’ve curated a list of the city’s top coffee shops, each with delicious beverages and immaculate vibes that keep us coming back for more. Check it out!

Bison Coffee

Located on 16th & Callowhill, Bison Coffee is a must-try if you happen to be in the Fairmount/Art Museum area. Bison regulars rave about their perfectly made drinks and fresh-baked pastries. This coffee shop’s rustic, modern farmhouse design and welcoming staff entice its guests to stay a while as they enjoy their favorite morning pick-me-ups. This neighborhood favorite may be just the type of cafe you’re looking for. Be sure to try Bison’s cortado or a lavender honey latte! They’re must-tries!

Elixr Coffee Roasters

Elixr Coffee Roasters has four Philly locations with its main shop sitting on Sydenham Street, just a couple blocks away from City Hall. Elixr regulars love that this coffee shop’s roomy yet cozy space makes it perfect for remote workers that need a change of scenery. Some of Elixr’s unique menu offerings include the strawberry oat milk matcha latte (we’re obsessed!), lavender lemonade, and fresh vegan donuts. Plus, their espresso beverages are truly a cure-all. Don’t sleep on Elixr!

Knockbox Cafe

We love University City’s Knockbox Cafe! This small business opened in June 2020, towards the very beginning of the pandemic, and thrived. This is a testament to how great this coffee shop is. Their outdoor deck is ideal for catching up with friends or studying while enjoying the fresh air. For our gluten-free readers, Knockbox has a 4/5 rating on Find Me Gluten-Free! When you visit this lovely community coffeehouse, be sure to try one of their tasty sandwiches with a fresh brew on the side!

Greenstreet Coffee Co.

Greenstreet Coffee Co. is one of Philly’s favorite neighborhood coffee shops! Its main location is nestled on the corner of 11th & Spruce with a second location on 19th & Alter. If you’re in Center City, you can easily walk to either location and grab a smooth cold brew or a dirty chai. Philly residents head to Greenstreet for the ambiance and aesthetic. This coffee company offers a cozy cafe to work from home, enjoy the fall air with their outdoor seating, and drink gourmet coffee made from house-roasted beans. You absolutely must check out Greenstreet for yourself!

Konditori

Konditori brings a piece of Sweden to Center City with Swedish-style coffee, tea, and pastries! With its barstool seating facing the street, this coffee shop is the perfect spot for people-watching. Konditori is also located near John F. Collins Park if you’d like to take a stroll with your strong cup of joe! A regular coffee, dressed how you like it, is a great drink choice at this cafe. But, their maple latte, matcha latte, and gingerbread latte (seasonal) are also worth a try! If you’re in the mood for a pastry, we recommend the cinnamon buns (kanelbullar) or the cardamom bread (mandelmassa)!

BOLD Coffee

BOLD lives up to its namesake with its striking design, strong coffee, and flavorful breakfast burritos. Located in Francisville, this black-owned spot is one of the most dynamic coffee shops Philly has to offer. The shop uses Rittenhouse-based Vibrant Coffee beans to make their one-of-a-kind lattes. Some of our favorites include the oreo crumble latte and the iced peanut butter cup latte! BOLD regulars live for this coffee shop’s vibe, unique selection of syrups, and we repeat… BREAKFAST BURRITOS. What’s not to love?

Cafe Ole

Cafe Ole’s quirky Old City coffee shop takes things to the next level with its Mediterranean-inspired menu. This shop sports colorful walls, plenty of wall art, and a beautiful mural on the outside of the building. Customers are constantly stopping by for nutella lattes, Brisket Shakshuka, or baklava, but the menu options are endless. It’s no wonder Cafe Ole is one of the most highly-rated coffee shops in Philly! When you stop by this cafe, feel free to get comfy; grab a seat, bring your laptop to get some work done, and stay a while as you try everything on the menu. Have yourself a day!
