If shopping local is important to you or if you’re looking to get some of the tastiest, freshest foods you can find in the whole region, check out our list of the best farmers markets in Pittsburgh that are kicking off this spring.
Here in Pittsburgh, we’re lucky to have so many opportunities to purchase handmade, homegrown, and even organic goods straight from the source at our region’s many farmers markets. There’s at least one per day all summer long, though often more, and many put unique spins on these traditional events by bringing in fun food trucks, live music and entertainment, and even special events and happy hours.
The City of Pittsburgh’s Squirrel Hill Farmers Market always features a great variety of produce including fresh fruits, vegetables, meats and cheeses, and local baked goods. Vendors may also offer seasonal flowers, organic soaps, and sometimes even clothing!
May 15–November 20 | 9:00am–1:00pm
The Carnegie Farmers Market features a wide variety of local vendors, including D & O Wine Cellars, Dolcezza Dagny, Full Moon Candle Shop, and Oak Hill Farm! This pet-friendly event also spotlights brick-and-mortar businesses along Carnegie’s Main Street.

Debuting at a new location this year, the City of Pittsburgh’s East End Farmer’s Market will bring vendors selling fresh veggies, produce, and artisan goods to Liberty Green Park on Monday evenings all summer long.

The Archangel Gabriel Parish hosts Robinson’s Monday night farmers market in the parking lot of Holy Trinity Church, featuring ready-to-eat foods, locally-grown produce, live music and entertainment, and tons of other goods.

Lawrenceville’s popular farmers market maintains its mission of providing “access to fresh, local and healthy foods for Lawrenceville residents and visitors, including low-income families and the senior community.” Check them out at Arsenal Park every Tuesday evening starting in May!
May 17–November 22 | 3:00pm–7:00pm
At the Bethel Park Farmers Market, you can expect to find vendors and food trucks that offer a selection of tasty fresh and prepared foods, including cookies, BBQ sauces, hummus, and wine from local vineyards! Other must-try products include baked goods, granola, honey, cheese, and shaved ice.
Beginning May 3 | 3:00pm–7:00pm
Moon Farmers Market will debut at a new location this year on June 1 at St. Phillips’ Church on Beaver Grade Road, which is more accessible, visible, and convenient to all! More than 20 vendors are already scheduled with hopes for more, along with food truck appearances and a Community Spotlight Tent.

In addition to live entertainment and beautiful views, the Peters Township Farmers Market will be hosting vendors that offer a wide range of local produce, meats and poultry, fresh eggs, coffee, honey, oils and salsa, local wine, baked goods, prepared foods and more.

Of course “Market” Square has one of the best farmers markets in the city! This awesome lunchtime market features a variety of vendors each week that bring regional produce, organic products, and small-batch prepared foods that are perfect for a mid-week lunch.
May 12–October 27 | 10:00am–2:00pm
Murrsyville’s farmers market features weekly lineups of fun live entertainment, tasty food trucks and fresh local produce. Along with the traditional items like fruits, veggies and baked goods, you can expect to find fresh herbs, flowers, hot foods, baked goods, and even pantry items.
June–September | 3:00pm–7:00pm
Cranberry Township’s farmers market is known for bringing the party by hosting happy hours featuring local breweries along with special events like Kidapalooza, the Arts & Crafts Fest, and Barktoberfest! Of course, you can still meet your #ShopSmall goals with all the farmers market staples.

Monongahela’s Friday night farmers market hosts traditional market finds alongside live music and hot food vendors, crafters, home party vendors, wineries, food booths and food trucks in Chess Park.

The Original Farmers Market is an open-air (covered!) permanent market located just outside of Bridgeville. Throughout the season, vendors rotate what they bring based on what’s in season, with items like baked goods, flowers, spinach and peas for sale during May. The Ligonier Country Market is about an hour’s drive from Pittsburgh, but we think it’s totally worth the trip. It’s one of the larger farmers markets in the region with dozens of vendors selling all kinds of local and handmade goods alongside hot foods, and they have some of the earliest hours around so you can get your shopping done early!

The Bloomfield Saturday Market is a favorite among city-dwellers, as it’s a great place to find fresh fruits and veggies, cold-pressed juices, handmade candles and more! Some vendors include Cutting Root Farm and Apothecary, Hannah’s Honey, Sol Patch Garden and Woolf Farms amongst others.
May 7–November 19 | 9:00am–1:00pm
The 18th year of the Sewickley Farmers Market has already begun! During this eight-month season, you can find sustainable, fresh produce alongside delicious food products like goat dairy products, artisan salsas, locally distilled spirits, no-sugar-added jams and sauces, and so much more.
