We put together a list of our favorite study spots great for preparing presentations, writing papers, hitting the books, and making those deadlines!
If you’ve never been to Austin’s downtown library, there’s no way to understand the hype. Voted in Time Magazine’s World’s Greatest Places of 2018, along with a handful of other awards, the building is home to not only books, but study spaces, a coffee shop, and a rooftop garden.
If you are looking to change up the scenery to get your productive juices flowing, you’ll have no problem finding that between the six floors, 14 shared learning spaces, reading porches, and gallery space.

Located right on Lake Austin, Mozart’s Coffee offers not only in house, roasted coffee and artisan baked goods but also tremendous views.
The waterfront outside deck space which covers two stories is covered with string lights for the perfect outdoor ambiance.
With four locations in Austin and a 24-hour location in the North Loop, Epoch Coffee is the perfect place to settle down and get to work. They serve great priced food and coffee, as well as blended and bottled drinks.
This small and eclectic cafe space is located in the lobby of The Line hotel in downtown Austin.
The coffee bar has a wide variety of options, as well as an upscale snack bar. Alfred’s is LA-based and serves their signature matcha as well as your regular coffee and tea options- not to mention the cafe design is quite pleasing to the eye!
Be sure not to get distracted with the people-watching. It is on point and sure to be a fun distraction when you need a break from the books!
With over 350 acres of public property, Zilker Park is an outdoor space often wildly populated with dogs galore. Perfect for a Friday or Saturday afternoon where the weather is too nice not to be outside but the schedule is too busy to avoid the to-do list.
Pack a blanket and some snacks and enjoy an afternoon study sesh sprawled out on the Zilker lawn!
If you’ve ever walked around UT’s campus, you’ve definitely seen students lounging in the grass in front of the tower. As long as it’s not raining, the South Mall is a classic quad like space to get some work done, enjoy the campus, and embrace nature- you might even see a lucky albino squirrel!
Located in the heart of West Campus, Space 24 Twenty is the perfect place to meet up with friends for any type of assignment. Numerous picnic tables fill up the center space, and the studying can go on past dusk thanks to the overhead string lights.
If you need study fuel, its surrounded by a couple of food options and more specifically a coffee shop!
