Shoal Creek is known for being an easy trail to navigate, even through all the winding creeks. People always state that when they bike this trail they feel as though they have escaped the heart of the big city.
There are a number of canopy oak trees, springs, and mini rock canyons on the trail that add to the overall appeal. The perfect trail to choose for beginners and experts.

Perhaps one of the longer trails on our list is Anna and Raoy Butler. This park is the perfect bike trail to take in the breathtaking views.
One thing to keep in mind is that this trail is known for getting busy on the weekends, so a pro-tip is to try and get there a tad earlier to beat the crowd!

Southern Walnut Creek Trail is a 7.3-mile trail along the Walnut Creek Greenbelt. Following Walnut Creek, the paved trail travels mainly through forests as it crosses several parks.
With its smooth pavement and 10-foot wide concrete paths, it is perfect to accommodate a variety of users. This trail is also full of twisting turns of trees, and beautiful foliage–perfect place for any bicyclist.

Slaughter Creek Trail is an easy 5-mile trail through the fields of southwest Austin. It’s known for being an easier bike path that is not too intimidating for beginners.
One unique thing about this trail is that fact that many bicyclists have stated that they occasionally run into an assortment of different animals such as Cardinals, White Wing Doves, Mourning Doves and other various lizards.
It’s is a beautiful trail that is pretty open, perfect for sightseeing, getting fresh air and exercise.

What’s unique about Barton Creek Greenbelt is the trail that spans almost seven miles. Whichever path one chooses is a fun experience.
There are even stops in which there are swimming holes–some people bring a bathing suit and use the swimming holes as a place to cool down.
Beginner bikers have the option of following the paved trails, but advanced bikers should keep an eye out for the rugged terrain.

Walnut Creek Park is located in Northeast Austin, Texas. This park has a good mixture of creek crossings, rocky inclines and declines, limestone canyons and lots of shade from thick trees.
The trails consist of mostly hard-packed dirt which is perfect for biking. Most of the trails are also well-marked which is helpful for bikers to be able to navigate the trails.

Veloway is a spacious recreational bicycle and inline skate track that was developed in the 1990’s. Some great factors in why we put this trail as one of our favorites is the asphalt, fun hills, sharp turns, and fantastic scenery.
It’s the perfect trail for bikers at all level. Another great perk is that no foot traffic is allowed, therefore, you won’t have to worry about swerving in and out of traffic.

Johnson Creek Greenbelt is located in the heart of northwest Austin along the MoPac Expressway. This concrete bike trail runs the length of the linear park/ with highway overpasses soaring overhead. The bike ride is beautiful with all the various scenery of nature and city views. One thing to note is that at the southern end of the park, the trail splits into different parts that connect to different destinations.
