Twisted Root Burger Co. is a staple in the DFW area and one of our favorite Black-owned restaurants in Dallas! Their high-quality, made-to-order burgers made this spot a Dallas dining destination after appearing on Guy Fieri’s Diners, Driver-Ins, and Dives.
Chefs Jason Boso and Quincy Hart aimed to make their gourmet burgers better with half-pound patties, locally made buns, and housemade toppings and condiments. Every curated burger is perfectly balanced or you can build your own! Oh, and don’t forget to order their perfect fries and tasty milkshakes!

For our vegan friends, you can’t go wrong with food from Bam’s Vegan. Their dishes are complex in flavor and beautiful in presentation, making it one of our must-visit Black-owned restaurants in Dallas. Trust us, everything on the menu is SO GOOD! You can’t go wrong, but we highly recommend the nachos or the hummus wrap.

Smokey Joe’s BBQ first opened in 1985, and in their over 30 years of business, they have truly perfected barbeque and perfect pairs of Southern-inspired sides. Named one of Texas Monthly’s 2021 Top 50 BBQ Joints, they are best known for their amazing pork spare ribs, loaded baked potatoes, and buttermilk pie. If any one knows how to bring the flavor, it’s the team at Aunt Irene’s Kitchen. Their Cajun-style seafood will have you coming back again and again. Each order is made to order, so the food is always fresh and hot. The portions are large and enough to feed two people (or take home leftovers). Pick from options like a lobster box, wings & pasta box, chicken & sausage box, and more. You won’t be disappointed with any of them!

Dough Boy Donuts started as a food truck but is now a brick-and-mortar store serving the area just south of Fort Worth. These gourmet donuts are indulgent and perfect for a sugary treat.
They have the classic flavors like plain glazed and chocolate glazed, but they also have unique offerings like sriracha maple bacon and butter pecan. If you are looking for the perfect savory-sweet combo, try their signature Dough Boy breakfast sandwich — a grilled Dough Boy Donut with sausage, bacon, American, cheddar, and pepper jack cheeses. It’s easy to see why this is one of our favorite Black-owned restaurants in Dallas!
