Fox29 called Fright Factory the scariest haunted attraction in Philly and we think they might be right. This high-startle, adult-themed haunted house is located in the basement of a 120-year-old factory. With very little information on its website, Fright Factory uses the element of surprise to its advantage. It is meant to be nothing less than a bone-chilling, terrifying experience. But, please read the warnings and disclaimers before attending. Now we have to ask; do you have the courage to step inside this factory?

The Spirits of ’76 Ghost Tour is an annual tradition for many Philadelphians. See Philly through a new lens as you embark on a moonlight walking tour of 20 scary sites. These include the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, and the Old Pine Street Church. It’s sure to be a spooky stroll through Old City’s cobblestoned streets, but you won’t necessarily be crying, screaming, and throwing up (unless you’re a lightweight, of course). Along the tour, be on the lookout for the ghosts of Ben Franklin, Betsy Ross, and the Witch of Pine Street!

We saved the most terrifying for last! Pennhurst Asylum was once the Eastern Pennsylvania State Institution for the Feeble-Minded and Epileptic. In 1987, it was shut down and is now haunted by decades of horrible controversy. Now, it opens its doors to all of us! Beware: if you’re a first-timer, you may want to wear a diaper. This is one of the most disturbingly paranormal haunted houses of all time. The Asylum is known for its features on Ghost Hunters and Ghost Adventures. We’re talking real ghosts! There are 4 sections to this haunted experience on Pennhurst Campus; Pennhurst Asylum, The Morgue, Mayflower After Dark, and Containment. Most of which are in total darkness. Only the strongest will survive this one.
