First off…CONGRATULATIONS! You’re engaged! Now the fun part begins. You may have been planning this day since middle school, or you may be just starting to lay out your Pinterest boards.
Either way, you are going to quickly discover that aside from the decision to marry your future spouse, picking and booking your Houston wedding venue is one of the most crucial decisions you are going to make on your journey to the altar.
Most vendors won’t confirm anything with clients until the venue is set. Once you book your venue, you will have your time and place set, and then you can begin planning all of the other fun details around it.
The Houston area is sprawling. Not so great for when you need to drive across town, but fantastic when you want options! Wedding venues are no exception. Here are some of the most stunning Houston wedding venues we’ve found.
This stunning venue is relatively new to the industry, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t deserve to be honored among the best Houston wedding venues! The owners pride themselves on making you feel like your wedding is the only one.
They have quickly made a name for themselves with impeccable service and a gorgeous aesthetic that will make a perfect backdrop for all those photos you will stare at for the rest of your life. The “chandelier barn” is a perfect fusion of modern elegance and rustic charm.
3845 Sapp Rd, Conroe, TX
This is Texas. We know how to mesh rustic and glam to create the perfect backdrop for your big day. We’ve seen this executed in various ways, but more often than not, that means incorporating some burlap into your decor, or the wedding party donning cowboy boots, but not many couples can say they tied the knot in their own private old western town.
Say your vows in the quaint, little chapel at the heart of the town, then dine and dance under string lights and the Texas stars.
5111 Pine Street, Pasadena, Texas 77503
Shirley Acres is a gorgeous venue whether you are looking for an elegant ceremony in the garden room or an airy outdoors “I do” in the courtyard. On top of the stunning aesthetics this Houston wedding venue provides, the owners and staff are fully dedicated to making your day (and the planning) as effortless as possible.
When you pick your venue, you can also get started with their on-site coordinator and begin planning out the details of your meal, flowers, music, and drinks.
Having all of these services provided by the same company can seriously lighten the load of planning your perfect party.
217 Woerner Rd, Houston, TX
This venue may be just up the road in Katy, but it definitely has the vibe of a destination wedding. Agave Estates seriously feels like you have traveled to some luxurious, hacienda resort deep in Mexico.
The pool and water features nestled amongst the lush gardens will give your photographer plenty to work with as you stroll together through this little oasis.
They are an all-inclusive venue, so once you agree to tie the knot here, they will start guiding you through the planning to ensure that your day is as perfect as you always imagined.
Side note: That pool is usually just an elegant feature of the venue. Great for snapping photos around, floating lanterns or candles at night, sure, sure, but we can’t help imagine how perfect the pictures would be if the newlyweds had their photographer snapping pics as they jumped in.

Looking for elegance by the water? This place is it! Waters Edge is located on the banks of Clear Lake and gives you the perfect backdrop for your nuptials.
Being so close to the coast, we have seen plenty of Houston wedding venues that focus solely on the proximity to water to disguise the hard truth that the rest of the venue is kind of “meh.” This is not one of those places. Both the indoor and outdoor reception areas have modern touches and an airy feel.
The grounds are also meticulously manicured, and we love the fire pit feature. S’mores anyone?
3901 Nasa Parkway, El Lago, TX 77586
The lush green backdrop provided by the grounds at Heather’s Glen is going to make all of your photos look stunning! Why hire someone to put together a flower wall for you when you can have an entire venue perfect for posing?
Flora aside, this venue is a southerner’s dream. The garden surrounds a plantation-style venue, complete with a massive porch, towering columns, and charming lanterns. The interior is spacious and airy, with plenty of natural light streaming in through the panoramic windows.
We particularly love that this venue is all-inclusive, so when you sign your contract, you pick your package, and they handle the bulk of your big day from there.
This is perfect for the couple concerned about having too many things on their plate.
200 E Phillips St Conroe, TX 77301
Are you inspired by old-world glam? Majestic Metro was built to be a lavish movie theater back in 1926 and now serves as a venue where every couple can feel like the star of their very own romance.
This downtown space is still filled with the elegant touches that made it so special almost 100 years ago, including your very own silver screen, balcony and box seating, and marquee out front to customize for your day.
Around here, we are used to seeing gorgeous venues built with limestone and impressive exposed beams set in the middle of a well-manicured ranch property. We love these places, and there is a reason why there are so many, but if you want a unique option that will keep your guests talking for years, you should definitely schedule a tour of Majestic Metro.
It definitely distinguishes itself amongst the other Houston wedding venues.

Sorry, y’all, we know Montgomery is a little out of the way, but it’s completely worth it. This venue is modern and architecturally stunning!
Jenning’s Trace property consists of a chapel, separate reception pavilion, and magnificent bridal suite. The buildings have maximized windows to incorporate the beautiful woods around you as well as sleek, clean lines that provide unique and timeless backdrops for your photos.
Seriously, you will have to remind yourself to stop taking pictures and get back to the rest of the festivities because the entire property is a photography wonderland.
This venue also has one of the most glamorous bridal suites we’ve seen.

You know the super cool glass building at Discovery Green? Well if you weren’t already aware, you can get married there!
Do you dream of the perfect metropolitan wedding? Surrounded by loved ones and the buzz of Houston? Onlookers staring enviously through the windows in awe of the elegance and sophistication you have put on display? The Grove is your spot!
In the very heart of downtown, this venue is super accommodating since they offer multiple space options to comfortably host your expected party size. Each one has plenty of natural light for photos and only gets more spectacular as the sun sets and the city lights begin to shine and twinkle in the background.

If you are looking for a place with a history to make some of your own, Butler’s Courtyard fits the bill. In 1909 it was the site of the first bank in the city.
Since then, it has been home to many different businesses, but as each one closed its doors, the space became run down and forgotten. That is until the current owners got ahold of it. They saw the potential the property had and brought it back to life!
Since it was built over a century, Butler’s Courtyard now oozes elegance and sophistication while hanging onto the beauty and character that it had all those years ago, making it a special and unique venue for your big day.
We love the exposed brick, the chandeliers, and that timeless gazebo in the courtyard, but couples that use this venue say that the staff and attention to detail really made their day perfect.
122 Michigan Avenue, League City, TX
Hughes Manor is one of the newer venues in Houston, but you would never know it. The staff is so knowledgeable and they do such an incredible job executing your wedding visions.
The courtyard is reminiscent of a well-manicured, English stable: stylish, modern details, but in a space that still feels breezy and intimate. The interior space is industrial-chic and will make for some great photographs of you and your guests.
Without fail, when talking to newly engaged couples, their top priorities when dealing with venues is a killer dance floor and a great bar to get people on that dance floor. Well, they have an amazing 360 degree indoor/outdoor bar and a spacious dance floor with plenty of room for a full band or DJ setup.
Say your vows, then get the party started!
2811 Washington Ave, Houston, TX
The pictures are one of the most important parts of your wedding day. The food gets eaten, the decorations come down, the band and guests all go home, but the pictures last forever.
You will want every detail you are coordinating to be documented and remember: the cake, the first kiss, the party favors. The one thing that will be in every photo through: the venue.
The Meekermark will ensure that every one of your captured memories looks perfect because the entire property was designed by wedding photographers.
They know what couples want and they have created an absolutely stunning venue. The open-air chapel is a gorgeous way to say “I do” outdoors, and the barn is a gorgeous combination of vintage and upscale furnishings.
If you want your photos to wow, consider the venue designed by photographers.

More things to do in Houston
While we love all of these wedding venues in Houston and the surrounding area, we know that every couple is different.
When you tour the properties, make sure you ask tons of questions to ensure you are booking the perfect one. We are glad we aren’t making a choice. It was hard enough to narrow it down to this list!
Once you book your venue, though, you can start planning the rest of the details, and it will be here before you know it.
Enjoy your time as a fiance, and know the best is yet to come.
