Located on the rooftop of a former school, Over Eden delivers a menu complete with vegan and vegetarian friendly appetizers and salads. Not only does this restaurant and garden bar offer scenic views of Lawrenceville and Downtown Pittsburgh, it also offers global sustainable wines, as well as, local craft brews and ciders. We highly recommend pairing the Avocado Hummus with the Summertime Mixed Salad!
Pro tip: Happy Hour is from 5PM–7PM featuring $1 off drafts and $2 off sangrias.
With over 40 beers on draft and a full bar complete with specialized cocktails, Double Wide Grill specializes in classic BBQ dishes, as well as offering vegan and vegetarian options. From the Beyond Burger, to the Seitan Cheesesteak, they are able to cater to every individual’s dietary needs and choices. The best part? Their outdoor patio area is dog-friendly!
Driftwood Oven is bringing the art of baking to Butler Street in Lawrenceville! They make their sourdough pizza pies in a wood-fired stove leaving the crust the most perfect shade of golden brown. While they do feature traditional pizza shop offerings (pepperoni, cheese, etc), they also make a specialty pie for vegans! “The Vegan” doesn’t have a standard set of toppings, it’s considered “chef’s choice” meaning it could be a little bit different each time you order. They do take special requests for toppings so if you’re really craving mushrooms, just ask! When we visited, we snagged the vegan pie topped with spinach, mushrooms and a fantastic aioli (pictured).
It’s all vegan all the time at Viridis on East Carson Street! From house-made soy yogurt in the parfait to the Biscuit Breakfast Sandwich topped with tofu bacon, everything on their menu is worth a try. In fact, we make an effort to order something new each time we visit. Their menu includes breakfast, brunch, and dinner options, as well as coffee and pastries! Viridis’ dedication to an authentic, purely plant-based menu makes them one of the best vegan restaurants in Pittsburgh!
What started out as a food truck is now one of Station Square’s premier food destinations! Passionate about quality and taste, Terrene goes the extra mile to cater to any dietary needs. There menu includes vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and other allergen-friendly options, ensuring that each customer can find what they’re looking for! Our personal fav is the Impossible Burger (pictured) with a side of fries and vegan ranch…YUM!
“Botanical Vegan Cafe is a social cafe created to merge a healthy lifestyle with socializing.” They have successfully fused the idea of a “hip bar setting” by offering mocktails and plant-based food choices making your cheat days just a little bit easier! 😉 Additionally, all of their menu items are free of major allergens and preservatives. Our personal favorite is definitely the Chickpea Salad Sandwich topped with pink Himalayan salt, cucumber, Roma tomatoes and a special made white sauce.
B52 Cafe is arguably one of the most popular vegan restaurants in Pittsburgh..and for good reason! Specializing in Middle Eastern and American classics, absolutely everything on B52’s menu is vegan. Whether you’re craving a falafel wrap or cauliflower wings, there’s something for everyone. Even if you’re a meat-eater, their ability to fuse flavor into each of their dishes makes B52 worth the visit for everyone!
Pro tip: Get $2 off weekdays from 8AM–11AM.
The saying goes, “be there or be square” but we think the saying should go, “be there or be Square Cafe.” That joke might have been bad (it was funnier in our head) but the food at Square Cafe is anything but! Their menu is jam-packed with high-quality food, including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options. Their menu changes with the season but there are some classics that remain on the menu year-round. We definitely suggest trying the vegan pancakes topped with powdered sugar and freshly sliced bananas…they’re delicious!
We’re so excited to taco about Condado Tacos! With multiple locations around Pittsburgh, vegan and vegetarians alike are welcomed to dine on classic Mexican dishes. They have three main plant-based tacos selections to choose from and all of them taste equally amazing! Our personal fav is the “Power Plant” which is perfect for adding a lil’ spice in your life! These tacos are made using veggie chorizo & poblano pepper taco topped with lettuce, pico de gallo, jalapenos and dirty sauce. But wait…it gets better…Condado Tacos also offers a build-your-own taco including plant-based proteins. YUM!
For nearly four decades, East End Co-op has provided ‘yinzers’ with high quality, organic and sustainably sourced food. The market features a cute little juice bar and cafe that offers plenty of plant-based options, including vegan pancakes and a vegetarian hot bar. The restaurant, grocery store hybrid is perfect for grabbing a quick bit to eat and taking home something to snack on later! Plus, all of the food offered at East End Co-op is sourced from family farms located within a 250 mile radius of Pittsburgh.
No matter your dietary restrictions, Scratch & Co is ready to serve you tasty food in a friendly environment! From appetizers, to salads and entrees, there’s something on the menu for everyone. A local favorite is definitely the cauliflower wings with homemade hot sauce and a side of vegan ranch. Plus, they have options for your meat-eating friends. Scratch & Co is truly one of the cutest vegetarian and vegan restaurants in Pittsburgh so definitely stop by for your next date!
