The Strip District is probably one of the coolest areas in Pittsburgh. It’s a cultural hub filled with gourmet grocers and awesome restaurants…all on one street! You can pick up homemade gelato and an Iron City Beer t-shirt within 50 feet of each other. When visiting the Strip, we highly recommend making a day of it because there’s just so much to do! To help make your planning easier, here are some restaurants in the Strip District you need to try!
There’s only one place in The Strip District where you can get a delicious savory meal and puff on a cigar at the same time. Cioppino, is a seafood and steak chophouse with a connected cigar bar that offers over 300 types of whiskeys! With a Gatsby-style interior and a tasty seasonal menu offering vegetarian and gluten-free options that will have wanting to come back! Pro tip: Check out their Happy Hour every Tuesday- Friday from 4PM-6PM to drink them down and smoke them up!

If you want to grab tacos, go wine tasting, and browse some awesome wood work, all in the same place, The Pennsylvania Market is the place for you! The PA Market offers five food vendors ranging from pizza, tacos, and good Italian delights! After eating, we recommend visiting all four of their bars and see which one you like the best! Maybe even sign up for a cooking class on your way out but don’t forget to hit up one of their three retailer’s to buy cooking essentials or maybe just to admire the beautiful craftsmanship of Johnathan Moran Woodworks!
Do we even need to say anything for yinz to come and try Pittsburgh’s iconic sandwich joint? Probably not but we’re still going to. The Primanti Bros. location in the Strip is literally where the infamous french fries on a sandwich was invented, and it always lines out the door to prove its popularity. It is a Strip District must, with a selection of delicious appetizers, sammies and refreshing drinks, you can’t go wrong eating at this 412 icon and Pittsburgh symbol. Grab an Icy Light, turn on the “Stiller” game and yinz have a good time!

If you wanna grab a pizza to go or prefer to chow down in person this next restaurant in The Strip District is for you. Grab a slice or two, maybe three, better yet just get a whole pie at Iron Born! Chef Pete, inspired by the iconic and traditional Sicilian squared slices of his childhood, wanted to reinvent pizza and make it his own. Patrons have the option to create your own or take on one of his masterpieces. Order a classic or try something one of his new takes, like the Nashville Hot Chicken Pie drizzled in gooey cheddar and ricotta cheese, dressed with fresh pickles, and that Nashville kick. We know you love a good slice of pizza that’s why Iron Born Pizza is The Strip District’s good cut center.
WED- SUN | 11AM-9PM
Pittsburgh would not be Pittsburgh without its Italian roots and the food to show for it. DiAnoia’s Eatery, is one of the restaurants in the Strip District where you can get that old world taste in a new world fashion. By day, it’s a deli and café but by night, it transforms into a vibrant restaurant, equipped with a full selection of premium Italian wines, coffee, and espresso. You can even get a tasty breakfast there too! If you’re craving a full three course breakfast, lunch, and dinner of delicious food like Nona used to make, then make your way down to DiAnoia’s!
