Spooky season is finally upon us and there is no shortage of haunted houses in Houston! We don’t know about you, but Halloween is our all-time favorite holiday with all the costumes, parties, treats, pumpkin patches and of course haunted houses!

1. 13th Floor Haunted House
A tried and true haunt that we love here at Stuff to Do in Houston! The 13th Floor Haunted House is full of obstacles, jump scares, terrifying scenes and is huge! If you need a little liquid courage, you can find a bar on-site that offers your favorite beer and seltzers as well as energy drinks to get you hyped up for the challenge.
Be sure to smile pretty for your group photo before your mascara starts to run and pick it up at the gift shop after you exit the haunt… if you make it through.
I don’t know what it is about outdoor haunted houses, but they always seem just a little more terrifying! When you visit the Haunted Trails you’ll try to find your way through the trees and wilderness full of gory scenes, and monstrous creatures of the night. After you make your way through the Haunted Trails, don’t forget to visit Psycho Hollow, a 3D experience that takes this haunt to the next level!

At Phobia Haunted Houses you will find not one, but EIGHT horrifying attractions! Each haunt is a different nightmare that you’re not going to want to miss; take your pick from Houses like Contagion, Clown Mania, and Dawn of the Machine. Prices for this location vary depending on the number of attractions you intend on experiencing and ticket prices range from $15 for one house to $70 for all eight experiences.
If you plan to hit multiple houses, be sure to arrive early as you may not be able to complete them all if you arrive too late.
A haunted house in Houston and selfie studio?! Houston Terror Dome is probably one of the most terrifying experiences in Houston and has some really awesome extras, too. Make your way through the ever-changing haunt, and grab a drink at the Selfie Saloon that is full of haunted selfie opportunities. Arrive early to experience Nightmare Alley full of dancing Zombies, AxeMania, and Cranium Catch!

Located in the former Kingwood Asylum, you will find Purgatory Scream Park, a top-rated haunted house in Houston. If you’re looking for a haunted house that’s as long as it is terrifying you’ve found it! Purgatory Scream Park is the LARGEST haunted house in Texas and it will take you about 45 minutes to escape the horrifying scenes and gruesome monsters… talk about nightmares.
This is an extreme haunted house with fog, strobes, close quarters and you may be touched, so be sure to take that into consideration before your visit!
