Inside Scoop from Managing Director, Matt Wilson
We got to talk with the Managing Director, Matt Wilson about the newly renovated, Slider’s Oyster Bar. Watch our Youtube video to hear some fun facts about how they got started and all the new additions!
How long has Slider’s Oyster Bar been opened?
Slider’s was purchased 5 years ago by the owners, but the building has been there since the 1930s/40s.
Where did the idea of Slider’s Oyster Bar come from?
The owners had their first date here before it was every Slider’s and they grew up coming here. They always believed in it and jumped on the opportunity when it went up for sale. They sat down with an architect and had a vision plan. The owner had a surf history which inspired the style.
Fun Facts about Slider’s Oyster Bar
They also own Safe Harbor Seafood so they knew they wanted it to also be a seafood restaurant too. But they know they wanted it to be more casual.
What renovations and remodeling was done?
Sliders is fun and fresh and a lot of hard work has gone into it. They worked with all local contractors and worked really hard on the remodel. They have a bar emphasis that was moved from the back to the front and made it an indoor/outdoor vibe.
