The small business scene in Pittsburgh is POPPIN! There’s so much to explore, eat, and do in the Burgh that we couldn’t possibly be able to list them all. So we put together some of our favorite small businesses in Pittsburgh. We think there’s a little something for everyone but let us know what your favorite small business is on Facebook or Instagram!
We love sipping on a hot cup of coffee on our way to the office. With 5 different locations, Adda Coffee and Tea House is one of our favorite places to aid our morning ritual. If coffee isn’t your thing, have no fear! Adda also has some also tea options including chai and matcha. You can even grab a breakfast sandwich or pastry to pair perfectly with your morning beverage!
Imagine going to your grandma’s house for breakfast. That’s what it’s like at Barb’s Corner Kitchen in Lawrenceville. The staff treats you like they’ve known you for years and the food never disappoints. It’s no secret we love brunch on the weekends but Barb’s hits the spot any day of the week. Our favorite is the eggs benedict or the corned beef hash. But anything you get will hit the spot!
DYK that the word pink means ‘sweet and love’? Well that’s all they’re serving at Pink Box Bakery & Cafe in Squirrel Hill! They specialize in creating Taiwanese delicacies including breads, buns, cakes and drinks! We highly recommend the Taro Almond Bun, Peanut Buttercream Bun, Chocolate Roll and basically everything on the menu. Because trust us, it’s all delightful so satisfy your sweet tooth with a trip to Pink Box!
Embrace your inner hipster at De Fer Coffee & Tea in the Strip District. They’re all about bringing sustainably sourced coffee to yinzers at affordable prices. Alongside being coffee masters, they also serve simple foods, cocktails, wine, and craft beer! Just picture it…a much-needed cup of coffee in one hand and a glass of wine in the other…PERFECTION!

Pittsburgh is known for a lot of things and Zeds should be one of them! Whether you’re a seasoned thrifter or just looking for something cool and retro, you have to check it out. They have everything from shoes, to clothes, to outerwear and everything in between. It’s also one of our favorite spots to find vintage Pittsburgh gear for when we cheer on the black and gold!
Who doesn’t love online shopping?! One Cat To Many is an Etsy shop run by Emmalee Schattauer, a Burgh native. She’s an expert in handmade jewelry using beach glass collected by her and her husband. Most of the glass was found on their frequent trips to Lake Erie but there are also a few pieces that feature glass from California, Puerto Rico, and the Finger Lakes. We love a new piece of jewlery to spice up our wardrobe, don’t you?
The Blue Snail is a quaint neighborhood gift shop in the charming hometown of Crafton. From fun home accents, greeting cards, luxury candles & soaps to custom pillows, unique art prints, and vintage finds, you’re sure to find something wonderful!
Calling all green thumbs! Head to Ruby Flora for all your plant-parent needs! If you’re looking for new pots and planters or just trying to find the perfect addition to your home, this is the place for you. The staff is knowledgeable and super helpful so you won’t have any reservations about your new green friend.
