Delicious Tacos In San Antonio, Perfect Any Time!

A Story By

Let’s be honest with ourselves here, we could eat tacos multiple times during the day and not get enough of them. We don’t just eat and celebrate tacos when it’s Taco Tuesday or on special occasions like #NationalTacoDay but they do hit different when you’re really craving them.

Beakfast tacos for the win! ☀️

Breakfast ALL Day is our favorite part about Dos Jalisco Mexican Restaurant. Not only do they serve up a very filling and stuffed breakfast taco, but offer a variety of traditional Mexican inspired dishes like the Fajita a la Mexican plate.

📍 8250 FM78 #104, Converse, TX 78109

Con Huevos Tacos brings flavor and authenticity to the Eastside of San Antonio. This is especially true with their taco names, like the Vicki or Irma.

Their outdoor seating patio is adorable, colorful, vibrant, and a great way to start your morning.

Pro Tip: Ask about the Agua Fresca of the day because the flavor changes daily! Here’s to scoring some Horchata de Plátano soon.

Tacos perfect for anytime of the day 🌮

Taquitos West Ave are definitely a favorite and go-to spot for many San Antonians, especially because they’re open until 3am on the weekends!

Taquitos West Ave offer delicious mini tacos that are inspired by the tastes and culture of Jalisco. The choices include Bistek, Tripas, Lengua, Cabeza, Suadero, and my personal favorite, Al Pastor.

Another SA favorite since 2007 is Tacos El Regio inspired by Monterrey Mexico. They offer an assortment of different tacos from Asada, Alambre, or Veggie tacos. Not to mention their Giant Sope or Regio Special Cheeseburger.

Puff puff and away! 🤤

San Antonians love their Puffy Tacos! Which means we had to start with some of the best in the city like Ray’s Drive Inn, established in 1956. Their beef and chicken Puffy Tacos are chef’s kiss

📍 822 SW 19th St, San Antonio, TX 78207

While Chela’s offers tacos of all times, you’d be missing out if you didn’t try their delicious puffy tacos!

We 10/10 recommend ordering their chicken puffy taco plate. It’s a taco you wish is never gone. Take our word for it and let us know your thoughts!

Vegan Tacos for our veggie friends 🥑

Because we aim to be inclusive, we couldn’t leave out our Vegan friends and the delicious tacos from Viva Vegeria!

Soooo original and really tasty, you’ll never know the difference. Especially when you’re having a classic like the ones your abuela used to make, Picadillo Tacos, but these are made with local soybean picadillo.

We’re also excited to try their “Chicken” Mole Enchiladas or the Classic Vegan Nachos.

📍 1422 Nogalitos St, San Antonio, TX 78204

Weather you’re a vegan or not, these tacos are worth the drive. Señor Veggie has many vegan options on the menu, so if you’re not feeling the tacos, splurge for their enchiladas or pizza!

Brownie points for being all veggies!

Team Favorites ❤️

El Milagrito Café Is our go-to spot for breakfast tacos! Papa con Chorizo and bean tacos are our must orders, but the Barbacoa tacos are just as great, and don’t forget to order a Big Red too!

Their lunch food is just as delicious and the Guisado plate is phenomenal.

📍 521 E Woodlawn Ave, San Antonio, TX 78212

Perfect after any occasion like date night or just during any weeknight when you need to pick me up.

Mini Tacos El Taconazo will definitely hit the spot. Our favorites are the Pastor mini tacos, Asada quesadillas, and the Charro beans.

Pro Tip: Make sure to stop by an ATM before because they are Cash Only.

📍 1309 SW Military Dr, San Antonio, TX 78221

Old faithful, Taco Palenque. They’re open 24 hours and can basically provide ease to my taco cravings at any time. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, midnight snack, and anything in between, they’ve got it.

Start your day with a bacon and egg taco. Then for lunch, grab a Beef Fajita Pirata and end the evening with a Matamoros taco for dinner. Oh and don’t forget a slice of chocolate cake!
