Hike Enchanted Rock

Enchanted Rock is an iconic spot just outside of Fredericksburg. The landmark dome is made of pink granite and offers some of the most incredible views. The hike is just over 4 miles to the top, so allow for a couple of hours to get up and back down with time to soak it all in!

Pro Tip: If you are visiting in the summer be sure to go early before it gets too hot outside!

Catch Live Music at Gruene Hall

Gruene Hall is Texas’ oldest dance hall located in New Braunfels. There is a bar at the front, an open space for dancing, a large outdoor garden, and of course, the best live music. They offer multiple free shows a week, and some with required ticket purchases, so make sure to check out their calendar to see who you want to dance to!

Pro Tip: Make sure to explore, walk around, and do some local shopping! We recommend grabbing dinner at The River House, Inferno’s Wood, or Adobe Verde!

Blue Hole Regional Park

Located in Wimberly, just an hour outside of Austin, Blue Hole Regional Park is a majestic swimming hole surrounded by lush trees and trails. The 126-acre park has over 4 miles of trails, as well as an amphitheater, basketball court, sand volleyball court, playscape, and community pavilion. The whole park is open year-round while the swimming hole is open seasonally, from May to September.

Pedernales Falls State Park

Pedernales Falls State Park is home to Pedernales River cascading over huge slabs of limestone. Here, you can camp, hike, geocache, picnic, ride horses, bird watch, and bike! If you want to be in the water, you can swim, tube, kayak, and fish. Make sure to make your camping reserversations too!

Eat at The Salt Lick BBQ

Salt Lick Barbeque has recipes originating from just after The Civil War, cooked with extreme precision for the most impressive barbeque. This Texas Legend has been making Texas mouth-watering bbq for over 50 years!

The restaurant is BYOB so pack your coolers full of beer and wine and head out for an afternoon of good food, good company, and a great atmosphere! We highly recommend saving room for dessert. The cobblers and pie are part of the Salt Lick experience!
