IT’S BIRDS SEASON, BABY! We’ve found some of the most lively sports bars in the city where you can scream, chant, nervously sweat and sip some brews while watching the Philadelphia Eagles surrounded by fellow fans. Put on your Birds gear and head to one of these five bars to watch the Eagles fly to victory!
Are you looking for the closest thing to watching a live Eagles football game? You’re in luck because we’ve found it! Located within walking distance to Lincoln Financial Field, XFINITY Live! is a bustling sports bar with several dining options, an artificial turf field, beer hall and more! With a 32-feet-tall HDTV and a 24-feet-tall LED video wall, you won’t miss a single play.
With TV’s on nearly every wall, Founding Fathers Sports Bar & Grill is the perfect spot to watch the Philadelphia Eagles dominate on the field. Grab some friends and enjoy their brand new menu and a variety of craft and local brews! With more of a casual and calm pub environment, Founding Fathers gives a more laid back vibe for your football watching needs.
If you like to play games while you watch the game, we’ve got the spot for you. Check out one (or both) of Garage’s two locations for pinball, Skee-Ball and pool tables for your gaming needs. They are also home to one of Philadelphia’s largest canned beer selections, but if you aren’t a beer drinker, enjoy their “fun-bags,” slushies, seasonal cocktails, Jell-O shots and more! With both indoor and outdoor seating options, you can have an amazing game day experience with friends and drinks at Garage.
Located in Center City, Locust Rendezvous is a classic bar scene with diverse groups of people, award winning fries and killer specials. This bar is a great spot to watch football if you are seeking a cozy atmosphere with reasonable prices. Here you will be surrounded by local Philly sports fans while enjoying an ice cold beer. Check out their lengthy menu and head to Locust Rendezvous this fall!
McGillin’s is one of our favorites for plenty of reasons, but one of the biggest ones is how long McGillin’s has been filling our pitchers – they opened their doors the year Abraham Lincoln was elected president, 1860. That’s shortly after the Liberty Bell cracked and long before City Hall was even built; that makes McGillin’s the oldest continuously operating tavern in Philadelphia, and one of the oldest taverns in the country. Even better – there’s plenty of TVs, beer and drink specials, and delicious food, that makes watching the game at McGillin’s a perfect way to spend a Sunday.
