West Midtown is, you guessed it, the west side of Midtown! There is so much to do, eat, drink, and see here.
Keep reading to find out some things to do in West Midtown if you’re visiting or if you’re a local just looking for some cool new spots.
The first thing you should know about West Midtown is that it actually has two names. It’s often also referred to as Westside. This is definitely an up and coming area of Atlanta.
There are many new residential areas as well as restaurants, shops, venues, and galleries. The limits of the neighborhood are up for debate, but most consider West Midtown to be the area west of 75, starting with Atlantic Station, to Georgia Tech. Although, some may also consider Georgia Tech to be within limits.
Regardless, West Midtown has a lot to offer and we are excited to dive into this neighborhood with you!
Coffee is truly a necessity for every city guide, so we had to include it in this one! We’re going to be talking about BRASH Coffee–one of our absolute favorites in West Midtown.
BRASH has a really limited menu, but they don’t need to add anything else! Their latte and their iced coffee are both delicious and you really can’t go wrong with any drink. There is also tea on the menu for all of you crazy, non-coffee drinkers! Did we mention this cute little coffee shop is also a shipping container?
If you’re looking for a shop with a little more space for getting work done, we would highly recommend Octane. It’s close to Georgia Tech, meaning there are going to be plenty of outlets ready to accommodate college students and now you, too!
And if those two coffee shops aren’t enough for you, you can also check out Chattahoochee Coffee Company located in Westside Provisions District. This coffee shop has more of a chill atmosphere with more delicious coffee to choose from.
? Upbeet
Food. Our other love language next to coffee. There are so many restaurants all around West Midtown, and one of our spots to check out is Upbeet!
This local favorite is for the health fanatic, the food lover, and everyone in between. Grab a yummy organic bowl, smoothie bowl, toast, or a latte!
Our favorite bowls are the Aloha Bowl and the Guac It Out Bowl, but there are so many nutritious and flavorful options that you truly can’t be disappointed with any bowl you chose. You can even completely customize a bowl to your liking if you’re wanting something exactly to your taste.
As mentioned, there are restaurants scattered through the West Midtown, all with great reviews. We personally love JCT. Kitchen & Bar, a sit down restaurant with amazing southern food. If you’re looking for a great brunch option, there is also West Egg Cafe. The photos alone will make you salivate…imagine actually eating it!
A couple of our other favorite places include a seafood restaurant, The Optimist, as well as an American restaurant, Miller Union.
Regardless of your choice, you will not be disappointed.
West Midtown is also a great area to grab a drink with friends! One of the most popular bars in the area, and for good reason, is Barcelona Wine Bar.
Barcelona Wine Bar is located in Westside Ironworks and it does not disappoint! You can order a drink from the crazy long wine list and order tapas to go along with it.
Did we almost forget to mention that they also have charcuterie and cheese on the menu? That’s what my dreams look like. Charcuterie, cheese, & delicious wine.
If you want to have a drink AND go bowling, The Painted Duck is your kind of place! This is easily one of the coolest places to go bowling and have a good time in West Midtown.
You can also check out Little Trouble for a Sci-Fi drink as well as Northside Tavern for some live music. Wherever you choose to grab a drink, you will be happy with your choice.
? Westside Provisions District
Shopping is not foreign to West Midtown, although it may look a little different than the standard retail mall. The main shopping area is Westside Provisions District.
This is an outdoor shopping area with some of the coolest boutique stores and retail shops. Some of the stores at Westside Provisions District include Anthropologie, Little Star, Free People, Warby Parker, and more. For a full list of stores and restaurants, click here.
At Westside Ironworks, you can find Dixon Rye. There are also a few other shops lining Howell Mill Rd. that you can check out along the way.
There is plenty of shopping no matter your budget.
West Midtown also has a really cool venue for live music called Terminal West. This is a great place to see a few of your favorite, more underground artists as well as discover bands that you have never even heard of.
The venue is a really unique space that feels more intimate for you and the artists. The concerts here are also pretty cheap, so if you’re on a budget but you want to see some good live music, this is your ideal spot!
The art scene is also alive and thriving here. There are a few different art galleries to choose from that you can get lost in. Some of the galleries include Sandler Hudson, Gregg Irby, KAI LIN ART, Deljou Art Group, and more.
No matter what your artistic taste is, you will find a gallery that you absolutely love.
