It’s finally the best time of the year… Halloween!! It’s time for pumpkin carving, dressing up in costumes, watching spooky movies, and of course– trick or treating in Houston is an amazing place for kids to go trick or treating, but it may be a bit overwhelming to figure out which neighborhoods are safe for our kids and which ones fully participate in spooky season.
Luckily for us, there are plenty of awesome areas in town that love to go all out for Halloween and will be perfect spots to visit when you go trick or treating in Houston. Keep scrolling to make plans for this Halloween– these neighborhoods are parent and kid-approved!
The Heights neighborhood is known for going all out on holiday occasions, and Halloween is no exception. With quieter streets, very walkable and accessible sidewalks, and cute houses galore, The Heights is one of our favorite spots for trick or treating in Houston.
Not only do they put a lot of effort into their Halloween décor, but they also put effort into the goodies! Your kids will thank you when they see the generous amounts of treats they can collect, and you won’t be disappointed in the spooky photo-ops either. Definitely check out The Heights for a safe and fun trick or treating location.
Katy and West Houston kiddos, Cinco Ranch is about to become your go-to neighborhood for trick or treating every year! Cinco Ranch is definitely one of the safest neighborhoods on our list– with wide streets and light traffic, your kids can safely walk house to house with no need to worry.
Cinco Ranch is also known around town as one of the most festive areas– if you really want to see a neighborhood that gets fully involved and into the spirit of the season, Cinco Ranch is a great one to check out. Definitely keep Cinco Ranch in mind when looking for spots for trick or treating!
Everyone knows that the nicest houses have the best candy… right? At least, that’s what the rumor was when we were growing up! Briargrove, a beautiful community that’s walking distance from the Galleria, certainly fits the bill.
With stunning houses to look at while you walk around, streets that don’t get too much crazy traffic, and lots of fun and festive décor, we can’t imagine a better spot for trick or treating in Houston! And if you want to make a day of it, why not grab dinner somewhere in the Galleria area (in costume, of course!) before you head out in search of some sweet treats? Sounds like the recipe for a great Halloween night.
Bellaire is one of the most popular spots for trick or treating in Houston, so definitely plan ahead if you are hoping to take your kids here this Halloween! Bellaire continually tops the list of best trick or treating spots for a few reasons– the abundance of spooky spirit in the air, high neighborhood participation rate, and overall safety and walkability for you and your kiddos.
When you hit up Bellaire for those sweet goodies, be sure to arrive early, scope out parking before you go, and maybe bring TWO candy buckets. Yep, you heard us right– you need to be fully prepared for the amount of candy your kids are about to get here!
Folks in Northwest Houston, you need to check out Cole’s Crossing this Halloween for all of your trick or treating needs! This is a cute, sprawling master-plan community that is super safe in terms of sidewalks, traffic volume, and speed limits. You will not have to worry about letting your kids roam around the neighborhood.
Not only is this one a really safe option, but it’s also another very festive part of town. Lots of houses here get into the Halloween vibe and go all out with their spooky decorations. Your kids will definitely have a blast trick or treating here!
