? C & C Creamery
A Manayunk classic, there’s a reason C & C has won numerous awards for their ice cream – their handmade frozen cakes and hard and soft treats are to die for! Serving up smiles since 1951, C & C is an old-school vibe complete with a drive-through window and an on-site creamery where all confections are created. If you want to try one of their famous ice cream cakes, however, be sure to order at least three days in advance – these cakes are custom-made and sell out fast!

? Franklin Fountain
Philadelphia’s premiere ice cream parlor and soda shop, Franklin Fountain feels like a blast from the past. The staff is outfitted in bow ties and period caps, while all ice cream is served in kitschy cartons making for an extremely Instagrammable moment. In true Philly fashion, portraits of Ben Franklin adorn the walls, making this saloon a tourist staple. All flavors are homemade and exceptionally tasty, but we recommend Franklin mint chip – the chips are so thin, they’ll melt in your mouth.

In the mood for ice cream but want to try something outside the box? Sweet Charlie’s is the shop to do it! Sweet Charlie’s creates “hand-rolled” ice cream right in front of you, assembly-line style. All treats are made on a table under 20 degrees, keeping them incredibly cold and coated with a thin layer of ice chips. Inspired by Thai ice cream rolls, Sweet Charlie’s Americanizes the experience by incorporating true showmanship and plenty of staff interaction.
