Whenever we go to Ramen Tatsu-Ya, there’s almost always a wait to be able to taste this delicious food. The restaurant transports you to Tokyo, Japan by giving off its classic aesthetic. There are lanterns lit with red hues, lots of distinctive decorations, and rolling boxed-shaped chairs for you to sit on. The inside of the restaurant is extremely instagrammable. You’ll have to stop by to see for yourself.
They offer impeccable dishes, all ranging in flavor and uniqueness. Our favorite pick from Ramen Tatsu-Ya is the “Mi-So-Hot,” which is a spicy version of the classic miso soup. You get an impactful mixture of Roma pork, ajitama, scallions, napa cabbage, bean sprouts, and corn. It’s flavorful and filling. There’s nothing quite like it!

Ah Sing Den is a magnificent place that welcomes an eclectic aesthetic through its unique decorative layout. I guarantee you, no one just comes for the food and drinks. You can enjoy their signature cocktails and shared morsels while sitting on their velvet blue couches as a disco ball spins above your head.
Ah Sing Den’s drink menu is endless with individualist names that pair well with the drink’s surprise. We tried their drink, “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” and instantly fell in love. The drink has Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, Fresno Chile syrup, Nola coffee liqueur, activated charcoal, and lime. You can’t miss out on their food options. We highly recommend the Marinated Tiger Shrimp and Avocado Toast.

The biggest unique quality about Hillside Farmacy is that it was deemed a Texas Historical Landmark because of its history. In the 50s, the “Farmacy” used to actually be a drugstore run by Doc Young, who was Austin’s first African American Pharmacist. Today, Hillside is still proudly owned by Doc Young’s family.
They have many American comfort food classics that would put any deserving person in a food coma. They offer a day, brunch, and dinner menu, perfect for whatever time you decide to stop by. There are countless options of meat to choose from, and you’re sure to get your money’s worth when you have a taste of their guaranteed quality. In addition to their slabs, they have grocery staples ready for purchase. Shopping for fresh local products, dairy, and baked goods is something to look forward to after your big meal.
We beg you to have a taste of their dry-aged steak, especially just knowing how fresh it’s going to be. If you’re not in the mood for steak, try their Butcher’s Bolognese, which is their house-made fettuccine pasta made with beef, pork, and pecorino. We can’t forget about the charcuterie board magic that Salt & Time has. Grab a friend or your partner to share a platter at a very reasonable price. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, enjoy!

There are many unmatched “snacky bits” that we love to get when dining here. Their burrata is to die for. It has pumpkin butter, sage, green apple, pumpkin seed crunch, and focaccia. If you don’t know where to go for a savory brunch option, we strongly recommend Jacoby’s. We like to start our meal off with “The Dude Brew” cocktail that has coffee-infused whiskey, cold brew, and Baileys (of course, alongside a glass of water). One of our favorite things off the brunch menu is the crab cake benedict. Be sure to enjoy it while it’s hot so all the flavors are able to melt in your mouth to encapsulate the full experience.
For the dinner menu, Jacoby’s gulf shrimp and grits are something special. If you’re looking for that comfort food dish to make your night exceptionally great, be sure to order it. On your way out, you can shop for unique jewelry pieces that Jacoby’s sells.

Though Wicky’s is temporarily closed for the season, you won’t want to miss out on anything they have to offer when they’re back open during the spring and summer. If you’re looking for a quick bite and something light, this should be your go-to place. Wicky’s has delicious rolls, tots, salads, and breakfast biscuits available to fulfill your desires. We recommend trying their popular daiquiris to-go, with alternating flavors and swirls. Their most popular item is the Louisiana-style frozen daiquiris.
