One of our favorite parts of living in Tampa Bay is the year-round beach weather! And what’s better than spending the day at a beach bar with a cocktail in your hand, soaking up the sun? The answer is not much.
We put together this list of our favorite beach bars and restaurants in Tampa Bay, so the next time you’re in the mood to get some Vitamin D, you know the best places to go!
Florida Beach Bar
Caddy’s Treasure Island is one of our favorites because you get a beach, bar, and restaurant all in one. They have great drink specials and food, plus a second-story bar with rentable cabanas with beachside service! This is a spot you can never go wrong with.
📍9000 W Gulf Blvd, Treasure Island, FL 33706
Coconut Charlies, located at the Hilton Garden Inn St. Pete Beach, is THE place to go for happy hour! Not only do they have drink specials every day, but they also have live music.
📍6100 Gulf Blvd, St Pete Beach, FL 33706
Postcard Inn, also known as “PCI” by us locals, is always a popular spot! While it can get a bit crowded, especially during Spring Break, you’ll find plenty of drinks and snacks. Head out to the beach for volleyball, and make sure to get a photo in the giant beach chair before you leave!
Pro-tip: Drinks cannot be taken on the beach here, but there’s plenty of room to hang around the two bars. See their website below for upcoming events!
📍6300 Gulf Blvd, St Pete Beach, FL 33706
St. Pete Catalyst
The name describes exactly how it feels to hang out here! Located on the bayside, you’ll find the cutest waterfront bar with a ton of new hammocks to relax and unwind. Make sure to order our favorite menu item–the coconut shrimp with a Mai Tai on the side!
Tuesdays are dog friendly so bring your furry friend to tag along. While you’re there, you can even rent paddleboards and kayaks on-site.
📍13090 Gandy Blvd N, St. Petersburg, FL 33702
Over in Clearwater, the Sandbar at the Opal Sands Resort is a waterfront tiki bar and one of our favorite places to catch a sunset!
They have live music, a corn hole, and a fire pit. We love sipping on their Tiki cocktail (you can never go wrong with a classic rum runner) and nibbling on their smoked fish dip while enjoying the sunset.
📍430 S Gulfview Blvd, Clearwater Beach, FL 33767
Jimmy’s on the Edge Rooftop
Jimmy’s on the Edge is one you can’t miss because it’s Clearwater Beach’s largest rooftop bar! With 2500 square feet of outdoor space, Jimmy’s is located on the 10th floor of the Edge Hotel. Enjoy the sunset, and if you stay until 9:00 pm, you get a free shot of Fireball!
📍505 S Gulfview Blvd, Clearwater Beach, FL 33767
The Palm Pavilion on Clearwater Beach is a local favorite! Enjoy the pristine white sands and incredible sunset views while you’re there. This beach bar has live music almost every day and delicious seafood!
Pro tip: This spot doesn’t take reservations and is first-come-first-serve, so plan ahead!
📍10 Bay Esplanade, Clearwater, FL 33767
Frenchy’s Rockaway Grille
Frenchy’s Rockaway Grill is the place locals can’t get enough of, and tourists come to visit. We can’t have a beach day without visiting this spot – plus it’s right on the beach, you can walk right up to it from the sand!
You can’t go wrong with sitting indoors to listen to live music or outdoors on their patio to catch a perfect sunset view. We recommend ordering their Frenchy’s Garlic Grab Fries to pair with your meal. You’ll be thinking about them even after you leave, trust us!
📍7 Rockaway St, Clearwater, FL 33767
Shephard’s
Shephard’s is the perfect place to spend the day! Enjoy the live music, beautiful sunsets, and delicious cocktails. Step out onto the sand and enjoy the water just steps away. Check their events calendar on their website to see what they have going on before you go!
