Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful

Give back to the community by volunteering with Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful, which hosts beach, park, and neighborhood cleanups throughout the area. It’s a meaningful way to explore the Bay while helping protect the environment!

Wat Mongkolratanaram Thai Temple

Visit this peaceful Thai temple along the Palm River and experience one of Tampa’s most unique cultural spots. On Sundays, locals flock here for the famous outdoor Thai food market filled with authentic dishes.

Tampa Theatre

Did you know the historic Tampa Theatre offers free community screenings? Built in 1926, this unique movie palace is an experience unlike any other, offering a full schedule of first-run films, classic favorites, and live events, with select showings completely free to the community.

  • $14 evening
  • $12 matinee
Heads up: Tampa Theatre's main auditorium is closed March–September 2026 for restoration, though select events are still happening in other spaces.

Second Saturday ArtWalk

Our favorite way to explore St. Pete’s arts scene! Galleries and studios across multiple districts open their doors, so you can pop in for a DIY art tour. Totally free, but we suggest bringing a camera — some of the exhibits are seriously Instagram-worthy!

St. Pete SUP – Free monthly events

Join St. Pete SUP for free community paddleboard outings held throughout the month. It’s a fun way to get on the water, meet new people, and enjoy the beautiful Tampa Bay coastline!

St. Pete Pier

We’re obsessed with strolling the iconic St. Pete Pier for breezy waterfront views and chill vibes. You can wander the lawn spaces, catch a sunset, and snap lots of pics, all without spending a cent. Don’t forget to check out the playground or bring a picnic to make an afternoon of it!

The Florida Aquarium

The Florida Aquarium occasionally offers “Kids Go Free” days with a paying adult, perfect for making memories on a budget! 
  • Sea Stars Program: Present your student's most recent qualifying report card at the Aquarium's ticket window to receive free child admission and 50% off adult general admission tickets
  • Children 2 and Under: Always admitted free of charge

TECO Streetcar

We love hopping on the TECO Streetcar for a breezy, no-cost way to see Downtown Tampa, Water Street, and Ybor City! Strolling and exploring the neighborhoods is one of our favorite free things to do in Tampa Bay.

Beaches

Clearwater and St. Pete Beach offer free access, just pay for parking. Sunset strolls and sand between your toes = instant happy vibes!

Folly Farm Nature Preserve

This hidden gem in Safety Harbor offers quiet trails through lush Florida landscapes perfect for walking, birdwatching, and spotting local wildlife. It’s a peaceful escape from the city with beautiful natural scenery!

Whimzeyland

Immerse yourself in vibrant colors, funky sculptures, and a unique atmosphere that guarantees a memorable experience without breaking the bank. A must-visit if you’re around Safety Harbor!

Porch Tunes at Pistil House

Local musicians play on the front porch every Thursday and Saturday from 6:30 to 8:30 PM; no ticket required. Grab a coffee or a glass of wine, snag a picnic table, and enjoy the laid-back, neighborhood vibe that makes it feel more like hanging with friends than a concert!

Sunken Gardens

Explore 4.5 acres of lush gardens with over 50,000 tropical plants and flowers, flamingos, and cascading waterfalls.
