Many businesses have opted to transition employees from the office to telework permanently. This new era of remote working has its perks–(JTB traffic, anyone?!) But it’s also great to get out of your pj’s sometimes. Enter the local coffee shop.
We personally tested out working from some of our favorite coffee shops in Jacksonville to see which ones were the best at providing an office away from the office. Here are our favorites, and yes, they also have some great perks…
Urban Bean has the best of both worlds — great coffee and great food! Serving both breakfast and lunch, Urban Bean is perfect for that “head down” type of overflow where you got to post up all day for. We love their mellow atmosphere as well!
We recommend trying their pretzel donut and “Sparkling Long Black,” which is a fizzy take on getting your coffee fix!
Also note: Their hand-pattied Australian Grass-fed Angus Hamburgers are AWESOME!

Southern Grounds is the perfect place to ease workplace stress and make the most out of working remotely. That’s because not only are the coffee drinks fantastic, but they have an excellent selection of food and desserts.
Deadlines making you tense? Treat yourself to a lavender pecan bar or a salted caramel cookie. Feeling famished after completing a long project? Order a California Bagel with scrambled eggs, smoked Patagonian salmon, Haas Avocados, and spicy house-made aioli. It sure beats a cold, hard breakfast bar.
Additionally, if you happen to live near the San Marco location, Southern Grounds has a beautiful outdoor space to enjoy some sun while you get the job done.

More than a cup of joe, Social Grounds is a coffee shop with a mission. Owned and operated by veterans, Social Grounds supports targeted projects that help military veterans in the community.
With Jacksonville being home to multiple military facilities and the Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay nearby, we have become the third largest military presence in the country and subsequently host a large population of military veterans–many of who are in need of support.
By choosing to work remotely from Social Grounds, you’re making a difference in our community and for our veterans!

Located in both Southside and Green Cove Springs, Brass Tacks Coffee has an abundant amount of space to work and delicious seasonal coffees. We particularly loved the Samoa latte, which had mocha, caramel, and coconut flavors.
Due to Brass Tacks’ spacious interior, it makes for the most “office-like” environment to really focus on uninterrupted work. Also, if you’re craving some mid-day waffles, this place has some of the most delectable you can imagine! Waffles > work.
📍 Locations on the Southside and Fruit Cove
Sago Coffee definitely caters to the remote working crowd with their ample space and bright atmosphere. They’re also the perfect place to meet as a team with their private conference table space! Located in Jacksonville Beach, this hip coffee shop is always teeming with activity during the weekdays so get there early.
Our favorite menu items are any of their unique pour-overs as well as the Affogato, which is a French vanilla gelato served with a double shot of espresso.

A true Jacksonville staple, Bold Bean has gained a reputation for being a community hub with great coffee. Clean and bright, this coffee shop is perfect for getting some work done.
At Bold Bean, we love their staple brew, which is strong with a great flavor. It’s also sustainably sourced–both economically and environmentally!
They always have great local craft brew on tap, so when you’re done with work, you can relax with a cold beer. It’s a win/win on all fronts.

This laid-back coffee shop is the perfect place for a pick me up in Murray Hill! The flamingo offers a wide range of beverages and snacks to enjoy throughout the day. Aside from coffee and tea, this shop also has craft beer, seltzers, sake, and wine on the menu, perfect for an after work hang! Be sure to stop in and chill at the pink bird the next time you need something to sip on!

The most bright and colorful coffee shop! Tetherball Coffee recently opened in Mandarin and is ready to serve the most unique and high caliber coffee to energize your day. The owner, Elias, wanted to open a coffee shop that would stand out from all the others and he did just that. The colorful designs, wall art and strong coffee will brighten your day.
Pro Tip: Order the Hopscotch for the perfect combination of sweetness and coffee.

Spring Park Coffee features freshly roasted coffee from sister company, Brass Tacks Coffee Co. to serve quality handcrafted drinks. Their menu offers a wide selection of drinks and to choose from, including their own creations of “SPECIALTY LATTES”. The Honey Badger is one of our faves and is the perfect combination of espresso with cinnamon and honey.
