In case you’re not sure where to start, we listed out our favorite holiday lights in Dallas. You’ll find some of the prettiest holiday lights right here in Dallas while some are a bit further away. But don’t worry, they’re worth the drive.
Holiday at the Arboretum is probably one of our favorite holiday traditions. Holiday at The Arboretum features 25-foot-tall elaborately decorated Victorian-style gazebos that represent each of the 12 Days of Christmas, a beautiful nighttime experience with over one million holiday lights, visits with Santa, entertainment, shopping, food, beverage and all NEW 50-foot tall Dazzling Musical Tree with 42,000 lights and holiday tunes.

On of the best free Holiday light experiences is the Vitruvian Lights. During the holiday season Vitruvian Park transforms into a magical holiday wonderland. Each of the trees in the park will be decorated with colorful holiday lights that beautifully reflect in the creek below. It’s such a fun spot to stroll around with your kids and a great setting for a romantic date night.
On November 26 Vitruvian Park will be hosting their “flip the switch” celebration at 6:00pm including performance by the Jordan Kahn Orchestra, gourmet food trucks, sweet treats, free photos with Santa, classic holiday characters, an elf balloon artist, and more!

Dallas Zoo light is a super fun drive-through holiday lights experience. You get to cruise the mile-long route through the Dallas Zoo and enjoy many magical holiday moments along the way! The Dallas Zoo Lights features one million twinkling lights, holiday-themed displays, dazzling 3-D lighted sculptures, larger-than-life animal lanterns, and more! At the end of the drive-thru route you can park your car and head over to the Holiday Village to snap some pics with Santa, or in front of the 30-foot lighted Christmas tree. Tickets cost $65 per car.
Tip: Tune your car’s radio to the Zoo’s station, 1680 AM to fill your car with holiday tunes and greetings.

Light Show, you’ll get experience an outdoor Winter Carnival full of thrills, fun and magical memory-making moments. Soar down 2-story ice tubing hills, ice skate under the stars, throw snowballs made of REAL snow at Santa’s snowball toss, ride the giant 108 foot Ferris wheel, Christmas carousel and train, spin out on holiday bumper Cars, meet Santa Claus and much more! Tickets for kids start at $19.99.

Prairie Lights is a super fun family-friendly drive-thru holiday lights experience. Get ready to be dazzled with 4 million lights set along a 2 mile path. One of our favorite lights displays are the arches. They’re truly magical. After seeing all the holiday lights, head over to Santa’s Village for some pictures with Santa, carnival rides, a walk-thru forest and some delicious treats. General admission tickets are $40 per car.
