State Fair of Texas food favorites ?

Who doesn’t love fair food?! We definitely cannot get enough of all the deliciousness that is happening at the State Fair of Texas. Did you know that every year before the Fair the Big Tex Choice Awards are happening? It’s an annual food competition. This year the Peanut Butter Paradise won Best Taste Sweet and the Fried Charcuterie Board won Best Taste Savory and Most Creative goes to Cha-Cha Chata. Have you even been at the State Fair if you haven’t eaten a Fletcher’s Corny Dog?! We always have to get at least one corny dog during our visit. They have multiple locations throughout the Fair grounds.

If you love funnel cake, bacon, and queso, you have to try the Funnel Cake bacon Queso Burger. we know it might sounds like a crazy mixture but it was delicious! It actually won in the Big Tex Choice Awards in 2017. It’s located in the food court in the Tower Building at the pizza stand.

The Armadillo

Calling all sweets lovers. Introducing The Armadillo, 2021 Best Taste Sweet award winner. Of course, we had to try it. It’s a giant ice cream sandwich in the shape of an armadillo. Although it’s kind of hard to eat, and might get messy, it 100% worth it. We loved every bite of it. You can find it on the Funway, just off the Midway, at Barrera’s.

Crispy Crazy Corn

Meet the 2021 Best Taste Savory and Most Creative award winner: Crispy Crazy Corn. This dish consists of crispy corn nuggets that are made from battered, fried sweet whole kernel corn, secret seasoning, and topped off with smoked pulled pork, tangy pineapple slaw, drizzled with jalapeño crema with a sprinkle of fresh cilantro. Yu can find it at Ruth’s Tamales located at the Cotton Bowl Plaza.

The State Fair if Texas wine garden is a hidden gem in the middle of the Fair. You can find it by looking for the colorful umbrellas that are hanging above it, offering some nice shade. Throughout the 24 days of the Fair, the Wine Garden will feature a selection of wines more than 20 wines that represent the different wine growing regions of Texas.

Coming to the State Fair of Texas is so much FUN! There are so many exciting things to do every day from live music, to the Auto Show, to rides on the Midway, the Rodeo, the Barn, and so much more!

Daily admission discounts ?

We al know it can get quite pricy to go to spend the day at the State Fair of Texas. During the week, Monday through Thursday, adult daily one-day admission tickets are $15 and senior and child daily one-day admission tickets are $10. During the weekends tickets are $25 for adults and $18 for senor and child admission.

Every Day

Kroger discounted Premium: Purchase in advance at your local Kroger and get $3 off premium one-day admission tickets or $5 off season passes.

McDonald’s Coupons: Discount coupons are available at participating McDonald’s locations throughout North Texas on tray liners and inside their meal bags. With this coupon, any fairgoer can save $5 off on weekdays (Monday-Friday) and $7 off on weekends (Saturday-Sunday.)

Military Appreciation Day is every day: All active military, retired military, and veterans save $5 off on weekdays (Monday-Friday) and $7 off on weekends (Saturday-Sunday) when they present valid documentation of military service at the gate or online. Spouses of service men and women with a valid Military Spouse ID and accompanying children under the age of 18 also receive discounted admission.

First Responders Day is every day: All first responders can save $5 off on weekdays (Monday-Friday) and $7 off on weekends (Saturday-Sunday) when they present a valid badge or ID card from their department or organization at the gate or online, plus up to three discounted admission tickets for their family members.

Planning on coming to the State Fair of Texas after 5:00pm? You’re in luck, everyone pays kid’s ticket prizes after 5:00pm any night of the week.

Tuesdays

Dr Pepper value days: Every Thursday during the Fair when you purchase your admission ticket online for a reduced price of only $10. Only Big Tex Insiders receive the promotion code so make sure to sign up and save!

Wednesdays

North Texas Food Bank, Feed the Need Wednesdays: By bringing five canned food items, fairgoers will receive admission for only $5. All canned donations go to the North Texas Food Bank, which helps fee

Thursdays
