Our recommendation: Try the Texas Typhoon, Chilli Cheesewave, and Sizzlin’ Seattle if you’re brave enough (they’re spicy)!

Portillo’s
The Dog House was inaugurated in 1963. In the past 60 years, the company was rebranded as Portillo’s, but even today it sells some of the best hot dogs in Tampa.
Head to Portillo’s and try their delicious beef hot dogs, which are served with kosher pickles, relish, mustard, sports peppers, and additional healthy veggies.
Our recommendation: Portillo’s also serves a plant-based Garden Dog, which is a healthier version of the Chicago-style hot dog. The Chili Cheese Dog and Maxwell Street Polish are additional yummy options.

This family-owned eatery located near the Busch Gardens has been around since 1973! Locals know that Mel’s Hot Dogs serves some of the best hot dogs in Tampa.
