Rain Japanese Sushi Bar & Thai

Rain Japanese Sushi Bar is a laid back Asian fusion dinner spot in St. Pete.  The space is nicely decorated with colorful accents combining both creative and traditional dishes from Japanese and Thai cuisine, you’ll never get bored of eating at Rain.  The space is decorated with colorful accents and has a quiet atmosphere – a great place to take the family for a night out!

We love that Rain does not skimp on the fish in their sushi, all at an amazing price!  There are tons of different rolls at Rain that you can enjoy for under $8!  We know that a group of friends can really rack up a high bill at sushi night, so Rain is a great option if you’re not looking to break the bank.

Ikigai Sushi Take Out

Ikigai Sushi is a fast casual sushi spot, focusing on being a family friendly destination.  There are plenty of options to choose from, so the entire group will be happy.  If you have kids who are scared of trying sushi, they might love trying it here in the form of a sushi burrito!  They also offer a large collection of board games to share, so you can hang out while snacking on your meal.

You need to try out their Ikigai Sauce on one of their custom poke bowls or rolls.  It is the perfect combination of sweet and spicy, so try not to get addicted.  We love ordering their appetizers, like the rich and savory Baked Green Mussels!

Ichiban

Ichiban is a low key local spot for sushi in St. Pete, hearty Japanese dishes, and your favorite Thai dishes.  This hidden gem is not well known but they deserve a lot more attention for their great service!  Upon being seated, you are greeted with a hot towel to clean your hands.  Also when ordering a Japanese beer, it gets served in frosty, ice cold glasses!  

We love their vegetarian rolls – the fried sweet potato roll is our absolute favorite!  It’s the perfect mix of sweet and savory, with a tiny tangy bite from the sushi rice.

According to their site, they are still operating as take out only.

Sushi Inc

Sushi Inc is a yummy sushi spot in St. Pete with amazing service and entertainment.  We love that this spot perfects your sushi outing by having live music on select nights!  With an inviting and comfortable atmosphere, this is a great spot for a casual sushi night with friends.  Check out their happy hour menu for the best deals!

You need to try their Tempura Philly roll!  Filled with salmon, imitation crab, cream cheese, asparagus and avocado, it is a filling and decadent roll.  Oh and did we mention it’s tempura fried!?

While their sushi is some of the best in the city, the locals definitely come back for their yummy cocktails.  The most popular is their spiked Blueberry Lemonade or their Blueberry Mojito!

The Lemon Grass

The Lemon Grass is a long time favorite in the Tampa Bay area, serving both amazing traditional Thai food and some quality sushi rolls.  Lemon Grass has an amazing location in Downtown St. Pete, so it’s a great dinner spot to check out while visiting the area.  Also they have indoor and outdoor seating with a great street view, allowing you to choose the type of vibe that you want!  

We love that you can order an assortment of Thai curries, sushi rolls, and noodle dishes to share with friends.  Our favorite sushi roll is the Ebony and Ivory – a grilled eel based sushi roll.  If you’re not into sushi or raw fish, they do have a Thai style, breaded fried chicken dish that rivals their amazing sushi rolls.

Bento Asian Kitchen + Sushi

Bento is a super popular fast casual spot, serving your favorite sushi rolls, bento boxes, and boba tea.  We love their modern and sleek spin on the classic Japanese restaurant, where you can visit any time of the week and not just for a special occasion. 

From teriyaki, poke bowls or sushi – all of the choices at Bento are great for in restaurant or on the fly.  If you’re looking great sushi spots in St. Pete for takeout or delivery, then Bento is the best option for you!  They also have a ton of boba tea options – including taro milk tea, mango green tea, thai tea, and more!

The Lure

The Lure is a sushi and tapas fusion restaurant, housed in a super hip and trendy space.  With colorfully painted brick walls and pool tables, you really get a cool feel from The Lure.  If you’re looking to have a fun, dressed up dinner with the girls for pictures and great food, then The Lure is the best option for you.  The vibe combination of a dive bar and eclectic sushi restaurant create this amazing setting for an aesthetic night!

The Lure touts a creative menu full of uniquely named specialty rolls.  They really play with different flavors that you’re not going to find at your neighborhood sushi spot!  Our favorite is the “Jasmine From The Block” – a roll with tuna, avocado, mango and served over a tangy ginger mango dressing.

Hooks on 4th/Hooks on 9th

Hooks is a trendy sushi bar, with two locations – Hooks on 4th and Hooks on 9th.  This dreamy spot features creative sushi in both flavors and how each dish is plated!  If you’re looking for a place with sushi that will look great on camera, then Hooks is the place for you!  We definitely recommend getting a reservation here because the beautiful rolls have the St. Pete locals coming back for more!  Offering both lunch and dinner, this is a great place for sushi any time of day.

We recommend getting the Sushi Symphony – a selection of rolls and nigiri sushi served platter style!  This is great to share with a group of people, so you don’t even have to go through the trouble of picking rolls everyone will like.  For add-ons, their egg drop soup and spring rolls are amazing little snacks to go along with your meal!

Sushi Rock Grill

Sushi Rock Grill is a cool, local sushi spot in St. Pete that features a gorgeous view of the water!  We love that you can either choose to eat in their indoor dining room and bar area – or their amazing patio!  Their roll selection is huge as well, so you are going to have to make multiple trips to try everything and find your favorite roll.  Make sure to check out their wine and sake menu too!

We recommend their unique Hawaiian Roll. This one is filled with fresh salmon and cream cheese, coated with coconut and then lightly fried until it gets a crispy golden edge!  Served with their signature Hawaiian sauce, this roll is definitely one of the most popular eats at SushiRock Grill.

Pacific Counter

Pacific Counter is a fast casual sushi and poke bowl pick up spot.  Their upbeat decor and friendly staff make Pacific Counter a great place to visit for lunch during the week.  We love their dedication to fresh and raw ingredients, which make the absolute best bowls in the area.  You get to pick your base, a couple proteins, and toppings – like spicy seasoning that will make your spicy tuna even hotter!  Did we mention that they have sushi burritos as well?  This is such a fun way to customize your meal, and might just rival your usual Mexican burrito meal.
