Vagabond Coffee is a hot spot for some strong coffee and yummy baked goods. Vagabond first started brewing in 2014 operating in a hip caravan. They opened their permanent location on Edgewood Ave. S. in 2016.
This is your spot if you want a chill place to sip and relax or to take some insta-worthy coffee pics with trendy rainbow walls and a hipster alleyway.
One of their very own, Andrew Woodsy, was also just voted Best Barista in Jax on Folio Weekly!
Tip: Order an agave latte and one of their homemade pop tarts! The BEST!

Flamingo is a hip bar with wine, beer, and good vibes. They just launched their coffee in July of this year and it is SO GOOD. They’re also open until midnight so you can fuel that late-night caffeine craving and sip it on their vintage couch.
We love everything about this place, especially the little flamingos on the coffee cups!

Community Loaves is a vegan-friendly bakery that started in 2011 as an organic bike-delivered subscription bakery. How cool!
They also have yummy coffee and the atmosphere is very inviting and down to earth. Their avocado toast on garlic bread is a popular choice and you can never go wrong with any of their lattes or teas.

Momni Boutique is a small town shop with a high fashion style and every local girl’s dream! This shop was started in 2009 as an alterations shop and has flourished to a beautiful boutique with women’s clothing, accessories, gifts, and so much more.
You can also shop for their trends online! A Momni gift card is always on our wish list.
There’s also Turnovers Inc. full of sports merchandise, Mockshop Music Exchange for all your musical instrument needs, Faith Jewelers with beautiful jewelry, the largest coin shop in Northeast Florida Edgewood Coin Shop, quality furniture from Robin’s Furniture, and much more.
We also have word that a new barbershop will open their doors in Murray Hill on November 15th, 2019 called Chop. Check them out for all your hair needs as well as Sacred Trade Barber Co., Pvre Image, andJim Newman’s Barber Shop!
? Town Beer Co
Town Beer Co. is a craft beer shop and tasting room. This is your go-to for a chill spot to grab a drink and socialize. It’s a great place to find local Jax beer.
They put on events and have movies and Jags games displayed on the wall while you’re sippin’! We hear they even have popcorn poppin’ on game days.
They are also Jacksonville’s only craft beer shop dedicated to local beer! They have created a whole new meaning to “go to town” and we are here for it.
Fishweir Brewing is a local favorite We love everything they have on tap!
Not only do they have locally inspired craft beers but they also serve cheese flights from another Murray Hill local, Grater Goods, and pretzels from Community Loaves. Why are we not there right now?! ???
The Stout Snug doubles as a restaurant and an Irish pub! They have a lot of happy hours which brings in a lot of happy locals. You can also plan your private events here.
Don’t leave without trying their jalapeño poppers. We recommend going on one of their Live Music Fridays.
You will also want to check out the Silver Cow featuring craft and artisan beers and kombucha! They have a very cozy and relaxing atmosphere and have many options for any type of event!

Moon River Pizza is one of the coolest pizza joints in Jax. What other pizza place has a disco ball?!
They have specialty thin-crust pies, beer, and wine. We find ourselves there at least twice a week for a slice of their amazing pizza.
If you are really hungry, grab a slice of T-Rex–you won’t regret it!

Maple Street Biscuit Company has the best biscuits and gravy around! They have a couple of locations but this one sits right in the heart of Murray Hill and is the perfect breakfast stop.
They ask you a question of the day as the name for your order so it’s surprisingly fun waiting for your food as you anticipate your answer being called out.
You MUST get the “Five and Dime” or you haven’t truly been to Maple Street.
Tip: there is a parking lot behind the restaurant! This place is always poppin’ so we want you to be able to enjoy it as much as we do.
El Jefe is a popular Tex-Mex restaurant in Murray Hill. They arguably have the best queso and excellent margaritas.
The owner spent 40 years trying to find “the perfect nachos” and if you’ve been here, you will agree that he found it.
They were also in the Top 7 of best tacos in Jax!
Some other great spots we are hungry for are Fired Up Pizza for some delicious brick oven pizza and happy hours and Murray Hillbilly for the best gluten-free vegan food! There’s also a local favorite food truck, Salt & Pepper Gourmet Street Kitchen with yummy greek food located in the parking lot of Mayflower Food Mart.
Huey’s Nashville Hot Chicken just opened up and if you haven’t been yet, trust us you need to! Start out with the medium or mild, because this chicken is hot!
? Dreamette
Dreamette is a walk-up ice cream shop that has been around since 1948. It’s cash-only and delicious-only.
They are known for there yummy dipped cones and they also have more cold treats. We recommend the Reese’s Sundae or the classic chocolate-dipped cone!
Murray Hill Theatre is a faith-based live music venue. This is a family-friendly place for live entertainment and art. This is also a historic landmark that opened in 1948 as a movie theatre! Plus, they play local bands at least once a month.
You should definitely check out the band Side Creek! They play at Murray Hill Theatre very often and are a well-known local band.
Perfect Racks has pool tables, shuffleboard, a jukebox, and beer! This is a chill spot to hang out with friends and play pool while you’re watching a game on one of their many TVs.
You should definitely order the tater-tots with a Shock Top beer while you play a game of pool.
Eraser Records is one of the newer additions to the Murray Hill neighborhood and we’re so glad they moved in!
They offer a variety of genres of their records and much more awesome merchandise. They are open Thursday through Sunday and also feature local art and live music.
Axe Champs is new to Murray Hill and we are so glad they joined the neighborhood. You get to throw sharp objects at the walls while jamming to your choice of music with friends or family! Your coach will teach you all the basics as well as lead some awesome games to bring out your competive side. Did we mention they offer alcohol as well?! You definitely need to add axe throwing to your night out.
