Yesterday & Today Records first opened in 1988, run by Bill Brueck, and transitioned to online-only in 2001. In 2010, William Brueck re-opened their doors. William continues their family’s love of collecting and selling vinyl records in Jacksonville.
This local store holds the title of being Jacksonville’s Best Independent Record Store / Vinyl Shop! Probably because it has everything! Yesterday & Today Records offer a variety of music ranging from rock to gospel. They also don’t just sell records. They provide a service that buys, sells, and trades vinyl records. You can either bring your vinyl records to them, or they can come to you!

Tiger Records provides another great spot to shop for vinyl records near the downtown Jacksonville area. As one of the most well-known record stores in Jacksonville, Tiger Records sells both new and used records, and within their selection of items, you can even find movies!

For a little bit of soul music and an old-timey feel, visit DJ’s Record Shop. DJ has run his record shop for a very long time, so long that he still has posters plastered on his wall that he put up in 1974. Although soul music gets played daily in DJ’s store, like the other record stores in Jacksonville, his collection offers a wide variety of selections. DJ is a self-proclaimed “soul man,” but don’t worry – his shop shelves are filled with blues, jazz, rock, reggae, and even some baroque and classical LP’s.
DJ’s Record Shop has been serving the Jacksonville community for over 50 years, pumping soul music through the shop day after day. The building is plastered with portraits of Sam Cooke, Mahalia Jackson, Nat King Cole, Barry White, Marvin Gaye, Bobby Womack, Johnny Taylor, Isaac Hayes and Barbra Streisand – you really can’t miss it!
