July 4th Activities:

Our friends at APK are open for business, and have tons of activities you can take out onto the lake.

Unlike a lot of kayak and SUP rental locations, APK is located on Lake Travis, not Lady Bird Lake. You can choose between a kayak, pedal kayak, and a SUP board for your time on the water.

We highly recommend trying out the pedal kayak if you’ve never been on one!

📍 1499 Graveyard Point Road, Lakeway, Texas 78734, United States

Rent a Boat

If you plan to rent a boat, stop what you are doing now and book it. We went on a sunset boat ride with Float On, and we are sure they are going to get booked up for the weekend. It was THAT fun, so you want to be sure there is room for your reservation.

Below you can find the boat rental companies in Austin. Follow the link to start the process of getting your boat adventure booked!

A great way to keep your distance from others is to take a hike! We are all lucky enough to live in a city that has SO many options available within such a close distance. One of the many hiking trails around Austin is a great option to pass time!

Check out our blog for the best hiking in Austin!

REMINDER: Please respect others and keep your distance from people when out on these trails. Be sure to check the trail website before you go to ensure they are still open.

Float the River

While it’s not necessarily in Austin, floating the river is a great way to get out of the house and spend one day cruising the water, over the weekend.

Choose between the San Marcos, Comal, and Guadalupe Rivers. Check float rental companies prior to visiting to ensure they are open and to ensure you don’t need a reservation.

Below you can find tube rental companies to get your tube reserved for the holiday weekend!

New Braunfels River

Comal River

San Marcos River

Want to make a plan that doesn’t require too much planning? Grab some food, a blanket, and head on over to a local park to post up at. While sipping on a refreshing drink, enjoying the summer weather is a sure way to celebrate America’s birthday.

Here’s some of our favorite parks to chill at, that are in the vicinity of the fireworks display near downtown!

July 4th Dining Options:

Looking for some good grub so you don’t have to bbq at home this year? Well, you’ve come to the right spot!

Here’s a list of all the restaurants you need to check out, that’ll fill your belly right on up before you head to a fireworks show. We have everything included, from Austin bbq spots that’ll make your mouth water, to great patio restaurants to enjoy under the sun. You’ll even find some Austin breweries that’ll keep you cool and refreshed.
