This 4th of July make your way to the beautiful Long Center for Performing Arts and listen to some amazing music by the Austin Symphony Orchestra. Watching the fireworks towards the end of the night is sure to make your heart flutter. This FREE event is open to the public and will feature “mile-high” fireworks in front of the skyline view.

The perfect daytime activity where you can shop local and enjoy live music to celebrate the patriotic holiday. This FREE event will feature over 60+ vendors, plenty of kiddy rides, water games, face painting, and an awesome fireworks display to end the night! Bring your chairs or blankets, buy some yummy snacks, listen to the bands, and enjoy the fireworks!

Whether you’re looking to enjoy a romantic date night or planning some fun for the whole family, you’ve got to catch a classic flick at the Blue Starlite! The featured film of the evening will be The Sandlot or The Goonies, both excellent choices.
Don’t forget to grab tickets now because they’ll be gone soon. Pack your own snacks like a delicious charcuterie or purchase popcorn and other faves while you’re there.
P.S. Make sure to look up at the sky towards the end of the film in hopes of catching some fireworks.

It’s going to be extremely hot out this 4th of July in Austin so we suggest making your way to Typhoon Texas. This place is good clean fun for everyone, adults and kids alike! Cool off at the Lazy River, explore the Gully Washer, and have fun at the Snake Pit.
Plus if you get hungry, this amazing water park offers tons of great food and drink options. Munch on burgers, pizza, or tacos, and wash it down with sour margaritas!
Plan to stay late because you won’t want to miss the spectacular firework display.

Not feeling the water adventures that Typhoon Texas has to offer? No worries! You can always catch the same firework show for FREE from 3 awesome locations! Pack some snacks and enjoy the view.
There are plenty of 4th of July events in Austin but one of our favorite and more traditional events has got to be the fun happening at Lakeway.
This 2-day celebration starts off on Friday with live music, a movie, and yummy snacks. Monday is when the real fun starts! You and the family will be able to enjoy the parade, munch on hot dogs, listen to live music, play games, or go for a swim. Not sure what you want to do? Enjoy it all, it’s a celebration after all!

This is the first time ever that Q2 will be hosting a 4th of July extravaganza! Hop on the Willie Nelson beloved picnic tradition and grab tickets today! Not only will you get the chance to experience the first concert held at the Q2 stadium and get a chance at purchasing delicious Austin food, but the firework display at the end will be the cherry on top after all the amazing performances.

Our friends at APK are open for business and have tons of activities you can take out onto the lake. APK is located on Lake Travis, not Lady Bird Lake. You can choose between a kayak, pedal kayak, and a SUP board for your time on the water. We highly recommend trying out the pedal kayak if you’ve never been on one!
Pro Tip: Don’t forget your water shoes and sunblock. BTW if you start feeling snackish, you can stop by the Sundancer Grill for some yummy quick eats!
If you plan to rent a boat, stop what you are doing now and book it. We went on a sunset boat ride with Float On, and we are sure they are going to get booked up for the weekend. It was THAT fun, so you want to be sure there is room for your reservation.

A great way to keep your distance from others is to take a hike! We are all lucky enough to live in a city that has SO many options available within such a close distance. One of the many hiking trails around Austin is a great option to pass time!

While it’s not necessarily in Austin, floating the river is a great way to get out of the house and spend one day cruising the water, over the weekend.
