Haunted bar crawl in St Augustine

From chilling stories to lively pours, explore a spirited side of the city.

The best boo-zy adventure

Embark on a self-guided pub crawl to explore the most haunted spots in town.

Tini Martini Bar under Casablanca Inn

Okay, so, maybe the quaint outdoor patio of the Tini Martini Bar itself isn’t haunted, but the Casablanca Inn above definitely is! Formerly named the Matanzas Hotel, this building was a hotspot for illegal liquor sales during Prohibition.  The Inn is home to many infamous spirits. Look up to the roof for Mrs. Bradshaw’s lantern – as her spirit continues to watch for snooping law enforcement, and guests still smell her favorite scent, Florida oranges, drifting throughout their rooms and in the halls. Another undead resident is Mr. Butler, who haunts room 11 exclusively. He is said to appear as a full apparition and tries to reassure guests that there is nothing to be afraid of. Are you brave enough to sip on a martini with the possibility of ghosts lurking above?

OC White's Restaurant

At OC White’s you can enjoy delicious appetizers, mains, cocktails, and spirits, and no, we aren’t talking about the drinking kind! Many have reported seeing the ghost Margaret Stafford Worth, wife of a general who lived in the building until her death in 1869. She is seen walking through the restaurant and sometimes rearranges the plate settings. Her son-in-law, Colonel T. Sprague, is also said to haunt the restaurant – guests find a man in a bowler hat staring back at them in the mirror of the men’s restrooms.

Meehan's Irish Pub

One glance at the bar at Meehan’s, and you’ll notice something peculiar – it has wires strung in front of the bottles so they don’t fly off the shelves! With three known ghosts, this Pub is familiar with plenty of paranormal activity. From disembodied voices to flickering lights and even numerous sightings of a man in overalls, you might be lucky (or unlucky) enough to experience otherworldly interactions while grabbing a drink at Meehan’s!

Ultimate guide to fall in Jacksonville

Discover the best fall festivals, events, and activities in the 904!

White Lion

The White Lion is no stranger to illegal businesses and horrible history. At different points in its life, the building was a speakeasy, brothel, and bootlegger’s bar, among other things. Many have reported being pushed while on the stairs while no one else is around. People have also seen light orbs falling from the second floor railing, reminiscent of a mob boss who was shot and fell to his death from the very spot.

Stogies Cigar Bar and Jazz Club

The next stop on your self-guided bar crawl is none other than the popular cigar bar, Stogies. With an outdoor fire pit, live music, and an excellent wine and beer menu, you may never know this place was haunted. Four men played a poker match upstairs when the building caught fire, once they realized it was too late. Be sure to stop by Stogies for their special $5 house beer and cigar deal and listen for the sound of shuffling cards. After all, they may still be playing!

Harry's Bar & Grille

Known for the delicious seafood and Bayfront views, before Harry’s was a restaurant, it was a home. Back in 1764, a young girl named Catalina lived there with her family, and it says she still lives there today. Many have reported catching a whiff of Catalina’s perfume or have had her mess with the faucets of the second-floor bathroom. When you visit, head to “Catalina’s Garden,” the outdoor dining area of Harry’s, and enjoy the beautiful views of the waterfront. Be sure to say hello to Catalina while you’re there!

Old City House Inn and Restaurant

Next up on your self-guided bar crawl is the historic Old City House Inn and restaurant. Enjoy a delicious cocktail and listen to tales of the past as you look for this Inn’s friendly poltergeist. Said to be that of a military soldier, some guests have claimed to have seen him walking the halls while others have stated they’ve experienced tampering with door locks and more!

Sangrias Wine and Tapas Bar

Located on the bustling St. George Street in the heart of downtown St. Augustine, Sangrias is not only a great place to people-watch but a great place to keep an eye out for haunted activity too! Share a delicious pitcher of sangria with friends on the porch as you search for paranormal activity in one of the most haunted areas of the city. Did a cool breeze give you a chill, or was it someone else?
