Ugh! Another weekend has come and gone and we’re faced with work, school, and whatever else weekdays bring. Regardless of what you are facing this week, I have the guide that gives you something to look forward to this weekend.
If you’re looking for things to do in Austin this weekend then you have stumbled to the right page. Whether you’re looking to get some serious shopping done or plan to celebrate the Chinese New Year on Saturday, I have everything you need to know.
Let’s get started!
Networking just got a whole lot cooler–and tastier. Introducing Third Coast Collective’s first-ever Frito Pie Social.
The social will feature drinks sponsored by Deep Eddy Vodka and High Dive Sparkling Water. There will be two DJ performances throughout the afternoon and into the evening by @soyellaella and @dj_justdex. Oh, and of course Frito pies thanks to Midnight Baker & Catering!
The launch of Third Coast Collective is more than just eating Frito pies and socializing. I spoke with founder Justin Roque, who said he wanted to create a space for professional minorities to come together.
The focus of Third Coast Collective is to, “Create a space for like-minded individuals to come together and engage professionally, socially, and cultivate community.”
The Frito Pie Social is just the beginning.
The social is open to everyone who is looking for a group of people to get to know. The Frito Pie Social is the first of many and the Stuff to Do in Austin team is hoping to see you there. If you see us be sure to come say hi!

Calling all Star Wars and beer fans, I have the event of the year for you: Star Brews Beer Festival. The festival will combine your love for Star Wars with your love for beer into one explosive night.
The event will feature more than 20 craft beers for you to try. Be sure to grab your photo with one of the many characters wandering around the Venue. In addition to beer, be sure to stop by the Darth Lair of Ciders. Can you guess what they’ll be serving?
No festival is complete without music so, of course, they found the coolest named DJ in the business, R2-DJ2. The Storm Rockers will also be taking the stage to perform live for guests!
May the force beer with you.

The ultimate shopping experience is back in Austin and for you shopaholics out there, this is a can’t miss event! And lucky for you, it’s two days long.
During these glorious two days, boutiques and local clothing stores from around town all come together under one roof and everything is on sale–I repeat, everything is on sale.
From jewelry to shoes, clothes to art, and everything in between, this is not a shopping event you want to skip out on. Just imagine all the potential deals you could be missing or those pair of shoes you never knew you needed. Don’t let that happen.
A few vendors you can expect to see are Beehive, RVCA, Daisy Natives, Party Pants, Tribeca, and so many more. With more than 100 vendors it would take forever to list them all out so check out the complete vendor list here.
You may shop ’til you drop but you won’t be dropping due to hunger because they will have snacks, sandwiches, and salads as well as coffee and a full bar. Grab a drink and get your shop on!
Tickets are $10 per day, however, if you are really serious about these deals and want to get in an hour earlier than the majority of shoppers be sure to snag a VIP ticket for $25.

Any party that tells me to “leave your wallet at home and come get crushed,” has my attention. One of my favorite additions to the Austin bar scene opened in 2019 and if you haven’t had the opportunity to check it out here it is.
Lefty’s Brick Bar is throwing an epic party to celebrate the Chinese New Year. The celebration will feature bottomless tiki cocktails, endless Chinese-American bites, music, and surprises throughout the evening.
The tiki cocktails you can expect are:
- Macadamia Nut Chi Chi: Vodka, Macadamia Nut Liqueur, Coco Lopez, Pineapple Juice
- Scorpion: Cana Brava, Brandy, Orgeat, Lemon
- Orange Zombie: Appleton, 151, Cinnamon Simple, Grapefruit, Lime
- El Diablo: Tequila, Cassis, Lime, Ginger Beer
- Western Sour: Bourbon, Velvet Falernum, Grapefruit, Lime, Simple Syrup
We’re so excited to celebrate and you can take part in this special evening too, just grab your ticket and you are good to go. You won’t have to worry about purchasing food or drinks, all you have to do is show up and have an amazing time!

Texas Tipsy Tours
With a January as beautiful as we’ve been having, there is no excuse not to take advantage of Texas Tipsy Tours. Enjoy a day out exploring wineries, breweries, and distilleries deep in the hill country.
For our tour, we had two incredible tastings at Treaty Oak and Hawks Shadow Winery. The best part was we didn’t have to worry about having a designated driver because that was Texas Tipsy Tours job. They even picked us up and dropped us back off at our preferred location. Talk about convenience!
Check out our experience in the video above. It’s a great idea for bachelorette/bachelor parties, birthdays, team events, family gatherings, or just a treat yo’ self Sunday!
