MOSI's dino mini-golf

Something prehistoric has landed at MOSI! The newly transformed SciLinx Cretaceous Course brings five massive dinosaurs to the museum's mini-golf experience, with photo-worthy moments around every hole. Kubana Kafe

You have to add this South Tampa spot to your coffee rotation ASAP! We love their Tres Leches Latte and Brown Sugar Guava Latte, and we highly recommend grabbing a ham croquette panini on Cuban bread. This is the perfect spot to get some work done, too!

J’s Asian Kitchen

Tampa Bay Ferry

The first of two new ferry vessels, Bay Breeze, has arrived in Pinellas County ahead of the relaunch of Tampa-to-St. Pete ferry service, with a second ship, Bay Clipper, expected to arrive soon. The new service promises lower fares and more frequent daily crossings once launched, though an exact launch date hasn't been announced yet!

Penny Lane Beatles Museum

One of the world's largest Beatles collections is getting a major upgrade with a new 2,100-square-foot home in downtown St. Pete, opening August 5th. Expect over 1,500 rare pieces of memorabilia, larger-than-life installations, and psychedelic décor inspired by the band's late-'60s era!

Seminole Sourdough

A new drive-thru bakery specializing in naturally fermented sourdough is set to open this fall, offering loaves in flavors like jalapeño cheddar and pumpkin spice, plus sourdough-based scones, bagels, and cookies. It's believed to be one of the only dedicated sourdough drive-thrus around, pairing an old-world craft with a modern grab-and-go format!

Big Dave's Cheesesteaks

Tampa Bay's first Big Dave's location is opening soon near USF, serving Halal-certified West Philly-style cheesesteaks in beef, chicken, salmon, or veggie. The fast-casual chain also serves up Cheesesteak Egg Rolls, Philly Fries, and banana pudding.

Belleair Coffee Company

More new spots coming to Tampa Bay

  • PAW Taps & Tails: Pinellas Ale Works is opening a second location this fall in the former Dissent Craft Brewing space, featuring up to 38 taps, communal seating, and a dog-friendly retail area with toys and treats. The taproom will also host live music, trivia nights, and monthly Yappy Hour events benefiting local animal shelters.
  • The Moon Under Water (Gulfport): This beloved British pub is making a comeback after four years, reopening in Gulfport by the end of the year in the former Drunken Taco space. Longtime Executive Chef Mike Crippin is bringing back classics like fish and chips and shepherd's pie, alongside a full British/Irish bar and a dedicated sports viewing area.
  • Florida Aquarium's Sea Change Expansion: The Florida Aquarium is entering the final phase of its $45 million expansion, with a new two-story Pacific Puffin habitat breaking ground this fall and seabirds arriving in 2027. An outdoor pavilion featuring California sea lions alongside the Aquarium's African penguins is also part of the plan, with the full project expected to wrap in 2028.
  • New Water Street Tampa Entertainment District: A major new entertainment district is coming to downtown Tampa. Plans include a 3,500-capacity live music venue, a new hotel, retail and dining space, and a central gathering plaza.
  • Peppermint Lounge: An upcoming 1960s-inspired vinyl bar blending live music, retro aesthetics, and craft cocktails into a soulful nightlife experience. Inspired by the legendary New York venue of the same name, the concept also plans to host youth music programs during daytime hours.
  • Pepe’s Cantina: Expanding to Seminole with a larger, lounge-style restaurant serving contemporary Mexican and Tex-Mex dishes alongside creative cocktails and brunch offerings. The vibrant concept is known for its extensive margarita menu, colorful atmosphere, and modern take on traditional favorites.
  • Peddler + Potter Oyster House: A forthcoming seafood-focused concept from the Bern’s Steak House Group, replacing Haven in South Tampa. Centered around fresh oysters, raw bar offerings, and an ever-changing seafood menu, the restaurant aims to deliver an elevated coastal dining experience.
  • Volta Wine + Market: A boutique wine shop and gourmet market opening inside the new 400 Central tower in downtown St. Pete. Designed to feel cozy and welcoming, the space will feature curated wines, artisanal foods, vinyl music, and intimate tasting experiences.
  • Rippers & Streetlight Taco: Tampa Bay hospitality group Tastes Pretty Good is bringing two new concepts to downtown Clearwater's historic Cleveland Street corridor! Rippers, a 33-seat burger and hot dog spot opening by the end of this year, and a second Streetlight Taco location slated for Q1 2027. 
  • Lakeview Farm Store: This specialty grocer focused on organic, locally-grown food is opening its second (and much larger) location in St. Pete's Grand Central District in late summer or early fall. Run by the Barbagelata family, the store partners directly with local farms for grass-fed meats, organic produce, raw dairy, and a dedicated cold-pressed juice kitchen.
