Your guide to Jacksonville Beaches

Looking for the perfect beach day? Explore the top spots for sand, waves, and ocean views around Jax. It's no secret that Florida is home to the endless summer!

Neptune Beach

Just north of Jacksonville Beach is the fun and quiet community of Neptune Beach. Neptune Beach is perfect for relaxing in the sun with your favorite beach read in hand! This mile long stretch of golden beach can be quiet on the beaches but the town knows how to serve up some of the best beach cocktails around! The north end of the beach is full of local eateries and bars ensuring you have the perfect Florida beach day!

Atlantic Beach

If you want to escape city life for an afternoon or an entire weekend, Atlantic Beach is for you! This northern beach is miles long and full of private spots to lay back and relax. Unlike the other beaches in Jacksonville, Atlantic Beach has only a few commercial spots. The beach is mostly residential but welcomes all who are looking for a quiet day watching the boats in the Atlantic and finding the perfect seashell!

Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park

This beach has just about anything you could ask for! Walk along the sandy shore or splash in the waves, and then take a break from the sun at one of the shaded gazebos. Looking to try something new Check out one of the many bike trails or camp overnight for the ultimate outdoor adventure!

Jacksonville beach

Of course one of the best Jacksonville beaches is Jacksonville Beach! Jacksonville Beach is one of the most iconic beaches of the area, with never-ending views of the Atlantic, beach volleyball courts full of players, a quarter-mile-long fishing pier, and the best beach bar food lined up along the beach! We love a day full of activities at the beach, working up an appetite while catching some waves.

Plus, you can drive on the beach here, so you don’t even have to worry about dragging your full beach setup from the parking lot to the perfect spot. Be sure not to get stuck in the sand, though!

Big Talbot Island & Boneyard Beach

It doesn’t get more Florida than having a state park right on the ocean! Big Talbot Island State Park is a nature lover’s dream! This small, undeveloped barrier island is full of unique beaches, trails, and wildlife! The northern end of the beach is full of skeleton-looking trees, showing the harshness of the Atlantic wind. The south end is a little more protected from the elements but just as unique as the north, with unforgettable views!

Mickler’s Landing Beachfront Park

We love a good beachfront park, and Mickler’s Landing Beachfront Park is the perfect Jacksonville beach getaway! Beachfront parks always have the chillest vibes, and Mickler’s is no different! The sand dunes that line the beach’s edge gives this park a private feel and the greenery helps keep it shaded and cool even on the hottest Florida days. Mickler’s Landing is the perfect spot to round up some friends for a fun game of soccer on the beach and cool off with sandwiches and snacks under the trees!

Guana

The Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve shows the true extent of Florida’s biodiversity and the importance of these beaches, barrier islands, and other coastal structures. The research reserve shares the story of the estuary and how it helps to protect Florida as a whole and the blossoming wildlife found within the park!

Ponte Vedra Beach

Surrounded by luxurious beach homes with a cute small-town vibe, Ponte Vedra Beach is the perfect place to visit! Enjoy a scoop from Flo’s Premium Ice Cream or a delicious coffee from Foxtail, and then head to the beach for a relaxing day in the summer sun! With “The Summer I Turned Pretty” vibes, Ponte Vedra Beach will have you singing Taylor Swift songs all day. Bring a book, stretch out in the sand, and enjoy the perfect low-key Summer day.

Fort Clinch State Park

Splish and Splash right on the edge of History! Check out Civil War-era Fort Clinch before cooling off in the Cumberland Sound. This trip to Amelia Island would be perfect for the whole family, as there is so much to explore at Fort Clinch State Park. From beautiful nature walks and wildlife to the beautiful beach, we suggest planning to spend your entire day at this amazing park!

Main Beach Park

Main Beach Park is another great access point to our beautiful beaches of North Florida’s Amelia Island! You can take a stroll along the sandy shore or enjoy the beautiful views by walking along the easily accessible boardwalk over the dunes. This park also offers picnic shelters, volleyball courts, and loads of fun for the whole family!

St. Augustine Beach

St. Augustine Beach, located on Anastasia Island, boasts expansive beaches facing the Atlantic Ocean. Visitors can fish at the St. Johns County Ocean Pier, enjoy volleyball and playgrounds at a nearby beachfront park, or explore the nature trails at Ocean Hammock Park, a sea turtle nesting site. A1A Beach Boulevard offers plenty of casual dining options, from ice cream shops to fresh seafood!

Fernandina Beach

If you’re looking for a change of scenery, be sure to head up to Fernandina Beach! This day trip is only about an hour away from Jacksonville, and there’s so much fun to be had! Start your day off lounging in the sun or playing in the water, and then head into town for a cute and quaint beach town! Walk down Centre Street for an ice cream cone from Fantastic Fudge, or enjoy a tasty lunch.

Flagler Beach

Looking for the perfect day trip or weekend getaway Flagler Beach is the perfect option! It’s close enough to home, but far enough away to feel like the perfect vacation. How would we spend the day First, we’d grab a cup of coffee from Sip and Surf Coffee or Yes Coffee Co. and then walk along the beautiful beach! We’d explore all there is to see (and take cute photos while we’re at it!) and then check out the Funky Pelican for some delicious bites!
