  • The District is one of my favorite spots in Jacksonville! They have a great happy hour with great deals. Great cocktails. Their French onion soup and charcuterie are the perfect apps!

They also have great weekly specials for food and drinks. My go to dish is the Beef Wellington which is rich in flavor and delicious!

  • This spot is perfect for any celebration! Reserve one of their Yurts and partake in their delicious menu. I recommend starting with the Cheese Board and then enjoying the Shepherd’s Pie for the main course. Pair it with a Virgin Pina Colada or the Strawberry Gin Smash for a sweet balance.

Annual Fall Festival of Orange Park

Celebrate Fall with the Town of Orange Park! Their Fall Festival is Clay County’s oldest and largest arts and crafts festival, and we are so excited to browse through all the goodies. Enjoy two days of fantastic entertainment, impressive performances, fall activities, and over 200 artists and creators for fabulous shopping! With bounce houses and other excitement for the kids, we can guarantee there will be fun for everyone. Try a variety of Fall treats and other delicious foods from local vendors. You can even pick up fresh produce from local farms! Admission is free for this autumn extravaganza, so be sure to participate in all the seasonal celebrations this year!

Jacksonville PorchFest 2024

Explore Jacksonville’s Historic Springfield neighborhood during its tenth annual PorchFest! This family-friendly and free event will host over 20 performers from a wide variety of genres, set up on various porches throughout this iconic neighborhood. Attendees can stroll through the streets or set up lawn chairs in front yards to listen to the awesome sound of Duval! As you wander between porches, this festival also offers a local maker’s market set up on the streets, as well as food and drink vendors, too! Porchfest aims to revitalize this beautiful and historic district of Jacksonville, so be sure to experience Jacksonville’s oldest original front porch neighborhood in a truly unique way.

Cook a Seasonal Dish

Jax Cooking Studio offers an abundance of deliciously-themed cooking lessons for you and your partner to try something new. Their recipes include everything from homemade pasta, sushi night, and of course, fall-themed lessons. This year’s seasonally-inspired cooks include Decadent Fall Cupcakes, From Scratch Pumpkin Ravioli, Halloween Macarons, and so much more! The best part? They provide everything you need and guide you through the entire process so all you have to do is show up, throw on your apron, and get cooking!

Fall farms 🌾

Congaree and Penn

Fall at the farm is unmatched! You don’t have to travel far to enjoy this farm set up on the north side of Jacksonville. Congaree & Penn is the perfect spot for a family picnic, farm tour, or goat interaction. We love getting a bite to eat at their farm to table restaurant and enjoying their fun fall activities. Farm passes are required for all guests ages two and older and can be purchased in advance online or when you arrive at the farm.

Visit Conner’s A-Maize-Ing Acres for the perfect autumn adventure! You can pick your own sunflowers and bring home a cheerful bouquet. Channel Jacksonville’s sunny fall weather with a visit to your local sunflower field! Plus, there are plenty of other things to explore at this fun-filled location! Meet adorable farm animals and check out their games and other activities.

Explore a corn maze

Take a short road trip to one of the corn mazes on the outskirts of town. Amazing GraceSykes Family Farms, and Conner’s A-Maize-ing Acres are just a few! We think the idea of exploring a corn maze sounds like a fun and adventurous date perfect for fall!

Asheville, North Carolina

If you’re hoping to see the leaves change color, then it’s time to pack your bags for Asheville! While this crafty city is more than a day trip, it still makes an excellent weekend adventure! Known for having one of the most dramatic displays of fall foliage in the country, Asheville invites you to experience the changing of the seasons for yourself while connecting with nature. Embark on a hike through the Blue Ridge Mountains, go apple picking, zipline through the forest, visit a pumpkin patch, and get lost in a corn maze. Just don’t forget to sit back and enjoy a cup of apple cider when the day is done!

Gatlinburg, Tennessee

Fall in Gatlinburg is a special time of year. Take in the view of the Smoky Mountains and explore downtown Gatlinburg decorated in all its beauty with an assortment of fall decorations to help kickoff the Smoky Mountain Harvest Festival. So, whether you’re sipping on a pint for Oktoberfest, taking in the view from the Skylift Park, or hiking the trails of the Smokies, you’re guaranteed a memorable trip when you visit Gatlinburg this fall.

P.S. Be sure to visit the neighboring city of Dollywood for their annual Harvest Festival, filled with a sparkling display of illuminated carved pumpkins and famous icons.

Charleston, South Carolina

If you’re a fan of Savannah but are looking for somewhere new to explore, Charleston is the next best thing. With tons of history and plenty of Southern charm, Charleston is a perfect choice when it comes to day trips from Jacksonville. Enjoy cobblestone streets, historic buildings, delicious food, and of course, a nice fall breeze when you head to this historic city. If you’re looking to add a bit more festiveness to your trip, head to the town of Summerville, located on the outskirts of Charleston, and attend their seasonal events in the square, including Scarecrows on the Square, Ghostwalk, The Winchester Haunted House, and more!

Savannah, Georgia

You’re probably familiar with the tried-and-true day trip up north to Savannah if you’re from Jacksonville.
